The Dark Knight - **Spoiler Thread**

saw this last night, cracking film.

Ledgers portayal of joker was very well played indeed, th elittle additions such as playing with the scars and the clicking added a lot I think. This is how the joker should be tbh, completely mad, with apparantly no reasons for any of his actions.

So the film ends with Dents Funeral, yep he's dead, Two Face will undoubtedly still be alive tho, wasnt that great a fall at the end of the film by the looks of it, batman landed flat on his back and got back up.

Scarecrow played a Very small part in this, possibly as a reminder that he as a villain is still around so he's not forgotten about? he didnt really seem to serve any purpose in this one. Scarecrow even seemed relieved when batman turned up didnt he say "ah thats more like it" when the batmobile came over the wall?

Joker obviously not dead.

So we have what looks like all 3 incarcerated together, Arkham Asylum?
joker has already built a relationship with Two Face, all 3 locked up together has to be some sort of background/step to the next film surely?

Gorgon I feel was also played V.Well, didnt expect him to come back whilst sittin watchin the film but after thinking about it surely you cant kill cmmsr gordon this early xD

Saw this last night and loved it!

Not a lot to add that hasn't already been said:

Heath Ledger was fantastic as the joker. I was sceptical of how he would be after the way his role had been hyped up so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it lived up to the hype - imho could be worthy of a posthumous Oscar.

The other 3 main characters (Bale, Eckhart and Oldman) were also played superbly.

Agree with whoever said that Batman's voice got annoying though!

Don't think I've ever seen a film twice at the cinema before but would be tempted to with this one although a bit worried that perhaps I've built it up too much in my head after enjoying it last night.

One thought about the scarecrow. In the first film there was some talk of a storm coming and things getting worse before they get better. Perhaps scarecrow's small role is meant to represent this fact. He was the worst villain in the last film but in comparison to the joker he is just a small fry?

I think you'll find that Ra's al Ghul was the big bad boss man. Scarecrow was just working for him.

Going to try watch it again with my parents this evening. This is the first time in ages that I've even considered doing this as I hate going to see movies again - even the ones I enjoyed.

But this was just so good.

There's a big list of movie mistakes and editing errors already compiled by movie heads, it's spoiler ridden though!

Anyone got a link to this?

Machinist is also another excelent film.

Shocking that he went down to 8.5 stone for the role :/

Last weekend I had a bit of a Christian Bale weekender, the Machinist, American Psycho and TDK.

Not that I'm complaining :p

Indeed. Apparently he did it just by eating an apple and a tin of tuna a day. I'm surprised he was allowed to do this since 300 calories a day done regularly is very dangerous.

He wanted to get down to seven stone but the producers wouldn't let him.

That's the problem with losing weight, it can become addictive.

Source.

just got back from seeing this and its the first film in beards that ive wanted to go pay and re-watch straight away .... EPIC

Ledgers Joker is disturbingly superb , doubt we'll ever see a better performance ..

I watched this yesterday afternoon in St Andrews and thought that it was stunning. The two old women that were in the cinema (all six of us in total) didn't quite agree. Not sure what they expected, too many explosions for them, LOL. I though Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was mesmorising. I liked Batman Begins, but though this was leagues ahead. Looking forward to the next film ...

There's got to be a 3rd one coming, but as my g/f said at the end of the film.. "Who will play the joker next", for a moment I was like huh? Durr.. Heath Ledg... oh.. Truly sad that he is gone, but I'm not sure I fully agree with his perfomance being amazing. Yes he had a different take on the joker, but is this not the writer/director that first initiated this. But all in all a good film, with a very strong ending.
