What is the best/easiest to use newsreader for downloading files?

Thanks

I love newsleecher, but u have to pay for that - I don't want to pay

Thanks

Another recommendation for Alt.Binz. I previously used GrabIt, then got a free copy of Newsleecher with a Giganews subscription, Alt.Binz is better than both. It can search lots of usenet indexing sites, then just right click to download, like the search features in grabit/newsleecher except free :) Supports auto repair/unrar, scheduling, bandwidth limiting, etc etc

In my opinion, Alt.Binz > Newsleecher (not free) > GrabIt

Alt.binz or sabnzbd the latter being perfect for a download server box, but you can't be serious, what legit binaries do you download off usenet? Have you thought about engaging your brain at all? I couldn't spell it out anymore than that...

Alt.Binz... bandwidth limiting

May have just converted me from GrabIt. Bandwidth control is all its missing, and I really want it.

Edit: I tried it and I didn't like it. The interface is messy and counter-intuitive, and this may be my fault but I couldn't get the bandwidth limit to work (I set it to 350kB/s and it still downloaded at ~400kB/s).

It's a shame because I really want bandwidth control, and I just found out GrabIt doesn't support SSL.

Edit 2: I just gave the trial of Newsleecher a whirl and IMHO it's far superior to both GrabIt and Alt.binz from what I have seen so far. All the options that I am looking for are there, including bandwidth control and SSL, with the added bonus of having a clean and intuitive interface.

The obvious downside is that it's not free, but I don't think I'll mind parting with 84p a month.

Ive been reading on the Newsleecher forums that the program doesn't work well in Vista 64. Can anyone confirm this please?
