Whats that place called, off shore, own "country"

Was having a conversation today with a work mate about that place I think it is like an old oilrig, lookout station situated in the sea near the UK.

I believe it begins with "S", has its own Laws, currency, etc etc

cannot for the life of me remember the name,

perhaps someone out there in the www can help

Its in the waters that belong to the UK isnt it? so technically still owned by the UK?


Yeah the UK extended their boundaries around the coastline which then made Sealand fall into the UK. Not sure if pre-expansion it was already in the UK's maritime territory.
