Do you find you see better with lenses or better with glasses.

I tried some contacts today and they were comfortable enough, but i found even after 1/2 hours wear i could'nt see as well as i do with my glasses on.

The optician is gonna try a different (not higher) presciption and see how that goes.

Same, although contrary to you, whilst lenses feel odd for the first 5-10 mins or so, it usually settles down.

i find i see better with contact lenses but when i get tired my eyes will start to dry so i find i have to switch to my glasses. what brand were they as i first had Ciba vision anti glare focus dailies given to me and they seemed to make my eyes feel really dry and prickly, then they got switched to specsavers own and since then theyve been fine

I see a teeny bit better with my glasses but obviously do not get the peripheral vision that lenses give.

I've found Specsavers Elite monthlies very comfortable, but am now on extended wear B&L Purevisions - although slightly dry (probably more due to my hayfever) it's nothing a drop or two here and there can't fix.

I wear glasses, contacts just make my eyes irritated and I always felt like there was something in my eyes.
I do see better with my glasses and they make me look smart! :p

I've get good vision from both contacts and glasses. It took a while to settle on prescription and type of lenses that were both comfortable and gave good vision.

The one i tried was some sort of daily, i probally wont wear them on a regular basis i have no problem with glasses, but it is good in the summer as i can wear sunglasses and dont have to worry about prescption ones.

I am limited to rubbish sunglasses as i have a +6.5 lens

For using the computer, then definitely glasses. If I use my contact lenses for the computer, I find my eyes get tired pretty quickly. My theory is that it's the constant refocusing required as the lens "catches up" when I move my eyes.

Rgds

I can see better after laser surgery than when I wore glasses or contacts.

If you're suitable I'd definitely recommend it.

can see better with glasses I seem to have a weird prescription so the lenses are just a little out.

Glasses tend to be better as they are a slightly higher prescription because they are a bit further from your eyes.

Contacts take a bit of time getting used to. I wear Gas Permeables and one at lunch time was annoying me so I took it out, have been wearing only one all day :p ha ha..

Would go for laser surgey but I don't think I could stand it :( having my eye yanked open.

I switched to contacts about a month ago after wearing glasses for 10 years. No problems so far, but I find the computer screen a bit harder to read sometimes....it's kind of hard to describe, the image isn't blurry, its just that focusing sometimes feels a bit wierd. Overall much better now though, I feel more confident and I have peripheral vision again...awesome \o/

I see much better with lenses. Though that's because glasses always slip down my nose, and the fact I get thin ones mean I don't have adjusted vision at the peripheries, bottom or top.

Edit - if you can't see that well after a little bit of use - then perhaps you need some lubricating drops?

I tried contacts but they simply were not worth it. I do not need my glasses, they simply make things a tad sharper as I have a slight stigmatism.

I have been told by my optician that contacts are not really worth the effort unless your eyesight does not allow you to drive legally without glasses. Make that of what you will.

glasses are a specific prescription, whereas contacts are standard prescriptions. so contacts are likely to not be as good.

Indeed, IIRC glasses can have prescriptions in degrees of 10 whilst contacts only go up in degrees of 90, or something along those lines.

contacs usually change by .25 of their main measurement

glasses change in incriments of that measurement, as well as lots of others.

i find that my contacts are okay , but my glasses are more clear , as they use a Nikon lens. Hate it that contacts get sticky and dry up

Can anyone who has had laser eye surgery report about the procedure they went through?

I've seen those adverts "NO INJECTIONS " etc etc, but I have heard that they actually slice around your iris and temporarily remove it which sounds pretty harsh.
