Reminds me of a story i heard....

A plumber friend of mine went to do a job on a council estate in his youth. Upon completing the work he gave the lady of the house the bill and she asked if they could, 'come to an arrangement'. My friend was up for this idea and they proceeded upstairs. She laid on the bed and was wearing white stockings. It was at this point that he noticed how dirty the soles of the stockings were and went off the idea. He never did get paid.

although whenever i'm not at work i'm barefoot, indoors or out, so the 'dirt' is actually just hard skin
