Hello guys.

Was looking really forward to playing Grid properly as it's an awesome game. I'm fully patched up to 1.2 and when ever I complete the first race of career mode the game crashes and says grid.exe has stopped working.

I even downgraded to XP just because I wanted to play this so badly, but it does exactly the same thing in XP. :(

Any body else had experience with this?

Nope, haven't touched it with any mods.

I've done a lot of Googling and tried everything people suggested but I still can't get the damn game to work correctly. :/

Such a shame because it looks like a really good game that'd catch my attention for a while.
 
I had this issue as well!
Changing the Gfx drivers helped, however i had a reinstall of xp between it not working and working so may have been some thing else.

I'm going to cross the reinstall of XP out because I already did that, although I haven't tried older Ati drivers.

From what I was reading, the graphics drivers downgrade was only working for people with Nvidia cards.
 
I am having the same problem now, was working 30 mins ago, finish a race and it locks up now. Tried a new profile aswel, just reinstalling now :(

possibly not a fix for you but worked for me when grid wouldn't start.

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\GRID\GRID.exe" -novirtual
 
Had same problem when i installed Vista SP1, fresh install of grapgices drivers fixed the issue.

Check your eventlogs for Faulting Module NTDLL.DLL (or similar) if its there then re-instakk graohics drivers.

How do I access event logs? :S

Is your PC overclocked? I found I got this all the time, I bumped the Northbridge and other voltages up by one increment and all is stable! :D I think GRID stresses systems quite a bit.

Everything inside my PC is at stock speeds.
 
Mine was crashing about a minute into the game. Tried reinstalling/updating/downgrading gfx drivers didn't see to work.

It was fine when I put the 4870 back to stock speeds (as I had overclocked it). So it looks like GRID does stress the system.
 
ive got grid on vista and xp, never had a problem yet with a 9800gtx and a 4870, seems odd others do, and judging by the codemasters forums , one or two are.
 
Theres no doubt about it, its a demanding game hardware wise

If your system has a weakness, it will find it. Maybe a psu issue,or ram, just becuase other games run fine doesnt mean anything.

i run my quad core at 3.33ghz and overclock my 4870 to 815 core and 1090 memory, it runs great.
