How many people quit AoC then?

I've got a few weeks left, great graphics and a fast flowing combat system but each patch is like watching a car crash.. you just cant take your eyes off it :D

Quick update for those that left after the 30 day period.

Money:
Once you hit 70+ you could solo bosses in Epic instances, meaning 5-15 gold per hour. Money drop rates have since been nerfed hard and gold is now much harder to get.

Gear:
You all know about the poor itemisation but once level 70+ crafted items hit the market, along with easy gold, things completely changed.
Gems could be stacked for massively overpowered sets in both PvP and PvE.
The most popular were stacked evade sets, meaning players could never be hit by melee, Invulnerability sets, mainly for PvE tanks and Damage sets, even gemmed out tanks can 1 shot other levels 80s.
Rather than fix gem stacking Funcom have nerfed evade and invulnerabilities out the game (including epic raid gear ), damage gems are soon to follow.

Who knows where Funcom are taking this game but I hope they can turn things around and make it into a decent game.

I cant believe the widespread rejection for this game... really... No one likes it lol

My friend who was raving about it pre and just after release didn't increase his subscription after the initial free month and has now moved back to WoW citing the broken and unfinished nature of the game as the cause.

I lasted 2 weeks, seemed really fun at first but the gimicky combat wore off and the grind and the boring zones that seemed all the same did not make it appealing at all.

I also thought the whole instanced zones made it difficult to find your way around.

Quit after 2 weeks or so. Easily one of the worst MMO's I've ever played, even compared to a load of free ones I used to play, some of which were actually significantly better.

dont believe that somehow :D

particularly judging by the reaction here :)

You are right, from the people whom are posting it does look bad.

I cant beleive how quickly people are getting charactors up to 70!

Ive been playing since launch and only have 1 charactor at 42 and 1 at 25 and a couple of 10ish.
I played like mad at the start for about 5 days.

I also cant believe that people can really get the most out of a game by getting to high lvls so fast, i guess there is a certain type of game player that is able to a) play a game without reading the dialogue or b) just grinds the whole way to best his mates to lvl 70 - then moans that it was boring even though he didnt really 'play' the game.

I wont be surprised if i get bored by the time i have 2 x lvl 70's, but that is going to be a long, long time from now. Just like i got bored of wow and EQ2, but on wow it still took me over a 8 months to get one charactor to lvl 54!

You people who can play for such long lengths of time or who grind their way to the top im not surprised you end up hating the game.

Im also playing Tabula Rasa and enjoying it as well. :)

Quit after the free month, it just didn't have that...thing. That thing which drives me to play endlessly - there are a lot of other reasons why I don't like it - but it just didn't do it for me. The guild, however, was wicked.

Gotta love all these WoW killers. Hyped to hell then all flop after 2 months.

Heh.

AoC flopped because it had no content, even in week 1 the mentals who had already gotten to lvl80 told us this and were largely ignored.. but a few more weeks and more and more people getting up there for it to really hit home that Funcom had done nothing but lie in video after video leading upto release. Balance problems, someones crap pc crashing etc is irrelevant...

Trying to lump people like Mythic in with that sort of behaviour just because they happen to be releasing a game in the same genre isn't remotely fair.

It promised so much and had 10% of the features in the game when it launched, same problem with WAR when it releases i predict unfortunately :/ Investors pressing to have a WoW killer and for that very reason not getting one.
