Is my car worth anything any more?

My 02 plate petrol focus passed the 100k mile mark during the week. I'm doing about 800 miles a week at the moment so it's gonna keep climbing fast.
Is it actually worth anything any more? It's still in good condition. Good bodywork, FSH, timing belt etc done.
What's the highest miles anyone has taken a car to? Was it falling to pieces by the end?

There's a guy on here who runs a taxi firm with 200k+ mile Skodas. :)

If its in good nick and you are happy with it, its probably worth more to you than to a buyer. 100k is a psychological barrier that buyers dont like, although it doesnt really mean anything.

:)

I have a 96 fiat punto GT on 127,000 miles and have had it around 4 years (had 115,000 on when I got it). Not really needed much doing apart from a new turbo :( so for a fiat its not doing too bad.

It will take a residual hit as pyschologically, it's past its use by date. In reality, there's no reason, with regular care, you can't double your mileage. The value is only relevant if you wish to sell it. If you like the car and it suits your needs, just keep ploughing on with it.

My dilemma is that I'm now eligible for a company car, but I'd only get 18p per mile with it.
With this car I'm on 40p per mile and making about £500 a month profit (at least until the first 10k runs out). If I thought I could get a bit of cash for it I might jump to the company car. I'll have a look for similar things on autotrader.

Keep it mate, the company car will not work out for you. Remember to factor in a large loss to your tax code.

I dont see why people get so worried about 100k mileage cars, if im buying a car i'd rather buy a car with 100k and FSH over a 50k with no history at all.

Carlsberg don't make engines, but if they did ....

Good maintenance is the key.

A 100k in a modern car is nothing imo as long as it is maintained properly and not driven like you just stole it.

Unfortunately when you tick over 100k depreciation goes into the minus figures. So technically you actually owe Ford quite a bit of money.

Time to consign to the scrapyard methinks.

Luckily mine has only done 98k and so is still worth about £23
