**OcUK Crysis 1680x1050 VERY HIGH Settings Top List**

Wonder why exactly the GTX260 is ahead, wonder if it means big boosts to come for 4870 as it is faster usually so might eventually be in crysis, or maybe we have to wait for Crysis Warhead?

I said the rig is overclocked with quad sli .... maybe I should have the rig is overclocked (except the gpu) and also has quad sli  :p

EDIT: This bring up an interesting point. Webbo can you please overclock the GX2's to see what score you get? Does not have to be loads but high enough whilst lasting the duration of the benchmark? I assume it would get you at least 6 more frames putting you way out out in front seeing as the 280GTX sli rig is now on your tail? :D

No coz I don't have the cards or the CPU or the motherboard anymore. I have got a few 'new and improved' goodies heading my way though, so expect to see an improved score soon enough ;). BTW that rig was totally air-cooled;).

I am surprised the 280's havn't blown my GX2's away tbh, especially considering the CPU is just a Q6600.

Another silly question.
Do i have to play through the game demo or is there a loop i can run and leave on?
If so how do i do it?

Thanks

Instructions are in the first post, download the crysis benchmark tool and run the default 3 loops with the desired settings, it'll give you the FPS info at the end.
If you already have it and its taking you in and letting you play the game, just run it as admin to fix it.

lost.prophet, are you using the bench tool or the "benchmark_gpu" file in the Crysis folder. I couldnt get any result info using the batch file but the tool works fine when running as admin.

Just been playing a bit and until I can WC my 2nd card, it's not really stable at the speeds I was using before.
Squeezed a little bit more FPS out with a much more conservative clock

Hmm,

I don't understand why so many people have such low scores at 1680 with NO AA? (Except Devious in number 5. Crossfire 4850? Lol please..)

To be getting such low scores, do people have AF forced on through the driver? Or a custom config for extreme visual quality?

1680 is solid for me, check the charts.

I also think that the standard 'beach' test with full 'very high' systems specs is a poor representation of performance in Crysis, both in a negative and positive way.

It would have been better to do something like 1920X1200, 4xaa (or 2x edgeblur), 16x AF, with Very High settings, in the Assault benchmark, with Physics and Particles set to High.

Oh well, hopefully this indicates that people can improve their performance a lot more than they are currently getting, by making some minor adjustments to their systems, because some of these scores in SLI and Crossfire are just unacceptable to me.

lol everyones scores are fine, 25fps at 1680X1050 VERY HIGH DX10 is about right. If you are getting like 40+ with a single card then thats due to different settings.

Anyway with the new cooler I managed to get my 4870 to 830/1000 and got a better score now:

Different settings?

I don't think so. I ran exactly what it asked.

I'm in full belief that poorly maintenanced systems and more importantly, inappropriate overclocks can have massive diminishing returns in 3d applications.

It should also go to show that as long as you have a somewhat recent Intel chip and a high end GPU, that overclocking has slim margin returns in real world situations.

There's someone else on that list who has a single 280 and he's five frames behind me with 31, which I think fits right in with what I mentioned above; however I cannot understand how Crossfire 4850 wipes the floor with some of the other setups.

Time to see how the 4870x2 does, though I'm sure people will complain that without using AA it's not 'fair.'

Are you trying to say everyone runs pooorly maintenance systems?

4850crossfire should beat a single GTX280, so should 4870, just shows crossfire is not working properly at the moment.

My system is perfectly maintenanced, my scores are fine and overclock provides a good boost in some games.

I've seen bizzare results in crysis benchmark before so I would not go talking about everyone has a poorly maintained system just cause your scores thrashed them.

I proberbly could up my scores a little if I exited every single thing but I really cba to do that.
