4870x2 at ocuk

The same review has plenty of benches giving results for a 8800gt sli setup too doesnt it? Looks like the x2 outperforms an 8800gt sli setup by a lot..

for the last time they are currently the ONLY 4870X2 scores that are out their I can directly compare against... I think pretty much everyone knows 06 isn't always representative of gaming performance :S

EDIT: http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3354&p=5 some with 8800GT SLI and 4870X2 - not a huge difference in it - until your memory capacity/bandwidth limited.
The higher the resolution the wider the results become - the 2GB memory on the 4870x2 will come in handy for 24"+ :)

At 3.2ghz the 3dmark06 test is clearly very cpu limited. I'm sure with some insanely clocked quad, 20000 can be broken easily even with the x2 at stock.

Yeah - with a high clocked dual the 8800GT SLI setup continued to increase framerate in the tests - giving higher scores for SM2/3 as well as CPU - not sure where they topped out but was still seeing increases at 4gig.

Well I would have considered ordering one but they seem a little expensive to me, I thought these were supposed to retail at around £330 inc VAT.

I win! Never thought for a second ocuk would have these below £350 on launch day.

Retail price is £311 so that is the pretty much expected first day price margin of £70 premium or abour 20%.

Wait three weeks if you want one at £311 IMO.
