Guild Wars

iv been trying to get into guild wars, had it for about 2 weeks now its a good game but i have noticed it seems to be 100% focused on completing quests rather then killing monsters/hunting, i guess i can get used to that but the main prob im having is NO ONE WILL PARTY WITH ME! why!!! thats my biggest prob :( i know that partying restricts xp you get off monsters but the game is focused on quests and it shouldn't effect the xp reward given for the quest so why wont ne1 party?
 
People only really party if your at a similar level to them and are a preffered class to the area that you are in, for example people would rather take a monk than a mesmer. The game is focused on quests in the lower levels as the are completed in order to advance through the storyline.
 
Depends, some people complete the game and think 'this is boring theres nothing to do' and quit but some people 'farm' high leveled monsters for highend items.
 
i like to 'farm' :D
i prefer RPG's like Diablo II u dont get all this fancy 3D world stuff but u get solid gameplay with high motivation to party :)
 
This thread got me in the mood for the game again. Dont have the latest but have all up to and including nightfall, if were on any of those i may join you guys.

I never finished prophecies actually...really want to but nobody was ever doing the final few missions

Edit: Just started the massive download for the whole game. I forgot how long this takes, even with 20mb broadband ><

2nd Edit: Do people still use necro / 55hp monks to farm...underworld is it? (been a long, long time since i played). I used to farm it with my necro and made an absolute mint.

I havnt completed prophecies either, im on one of the final missions though.. something fissure i think.. would be good to finish it.

think thats the one i need...would be interested in getting it done, and the other missions, at some point :)

They nerfed it by adding enchantment stripping monsters, people now do 55/SS or 600/smite and assassins and warrior are now the most preffered farmers in the UW.
 
game names:
Qlimax X Y (lv9 elemental/monk)
Rogue X Y (lv4 Ranger)
Emo X Y (lv2 Neco...)
Monk Eh (lv 3 Monk)

because on the 2 word or more name rule i have started my own 'X Y' thing :D i cant think of a 2 word name :)
with the one difference of Monk Eh i thought that name would be funny :) and not sure if im keepin that char yet
 
I've just been playing it quite a bit since last Friday, died off for the time being as I have other stuff to do.

My Paragon character has just got over 1 million XP though :cool:


I'll add you when I'm next on Gord, I remember you being in the original crew that got the game, I thought you had completed it and that's why you stopped playing prophecies?
 
iv got all 4 games, only got one main character (ele) cos hes just best, might make some other serious ones but i want to get a shed of titles on my main first lol, just collecting the protector ones (only nightfall left to do, gets hard near the end!)

Cool, Yeh I was actually in the beta and all of the weekend preview events, which unfortunately for me meant I completed all of the early missions really quickly... managed to get to the final few but players were so rare and the henches just dont stand up.. so I left the game and then went to uni.. so no time.. but now done with uni so getting some gaming in!
 
First of all if its your first play through the game progress through the missions and quests at it will give you a better understanding of the game and you will get mroe skills.

I'm a PvE person as i don't really bother with PvE.
