4870X2 PSU/Case requirements

I have a Antec 900 case and a HX620W. I am tempted to go after work tommorrow to pick one of these bad boys up.

Will it A) fit B) blow up my PSU?

b) no it wont kill your psu, hope it doesnt anyway as its the same one i have and plan to run an x2 through it at some point

Same case and psu as me, im sure its same length as 8800GTX which fits ok in mine although it leaves a couple of the sata header connectors difficult to access, in terms of aiding the cooling for the likes of the X2 then its a great case, I have top fan 100% and the two at the rear on 100% + got additional one on side window blowing cool air over the GTX, ambient case temps are very low compared to various mates cases with same hardware, see no reason why it wont be good for the X2

Someone in another thread has an X2 working on this psu with a quad6600 running at 3.2 so its looking ok, also if your lucky like me the psu will already have the 2x6 pins each with an attatched 2 pins for which one of them will be needed for the X2

It will fit with the hard drive fan mount removed. Yes the HX620 can power it fine.

Yeah the Corsair 620 is working fine, just got it all up and running and have been playing Crysis on all Very high settings for the last hour. no glitches and nice and smooth. Ended up using the drivers with the card as couldnt get any ati ones to install from amd's site, as I just mentioned in another thread.

cool, just gotta source the 6+2, my 620 lacks them, sent an email off to corsair see if they can do so, since they have a policy on cable replacement anyway

they will give you a free cable

I've just bought one of the pre-builds from Overclockers with an 4870X2, based on an Aztec 900 case, so if they can do it, there should be no reason why you can't.

As for power, will also depend on how many hard / optical drives your running, fans etc, anything else that will eat up the power.
