Hi all,

Is there a rough list of the order of the current cards at the moment, listed by performance.

ie (this is totally wrong)

ATI 4850
9800 GTX
9800 GT
8800 GTX
8800 GT
6800 GT

or whatever

dunno...but I would say:

4870 X2
GTX 280
9800 GX2
4870
GTX 260
4850
3870 X2
9800 GTX+
9800 GTX
8800 Ultra
8800 GTS 512mb
8800 GTX
8800 GT = 9800 GT
3870 512mb
3850 512mb
8800 GS 768mb

who really cares after that :p

The list sort of changes around depending at which resolution you game though....

Thought the 9800 gtx+ beats the 4850 on some and loses on others. Arent they basically the same performance?

Thats great, thanks guys

One thing? I thought the 8800 GTX was the top of the range 8800 card? You've got the 8800 Ultra and 8800 GTS 512mb beating it?

ultra is better than the GTX, the ultra is the top of the 8800 range

the GTS is a newer, faster core, so at lower res and less AA/AF it beats it. but crank up the res and AA/AF and the GTX is better. i'd say that the GTX is a better card.

Currently have the 8800gtx. It plays everything I need at the moment, was just wondering how far behind it is now.

The x2 in one review was on average 30 percent faster than a gtx280 at high res with aa and in some cases 70 percent. Can't remember which review but remember this line from the conclusion. Its basically in another league from the gtx280 in most games at the top resolution. Need a really nice overclocked cpu to get the best out of it though.

but the point is, that's only in the few games that support xfire. The "new interGPU communication" thing turned out to be a myth. On the list of xfire compatible games (about 30-50 titles only), there are only two I play, Crysis and Bioshock.
Somebody posted a complete list here a while ago, anyone thinking of an x2 had better make sure all their games or on that list or they'll be buying 1x4870, and one case heater.
