I would have thought free delivery would have went to loyal ocuk shoppers and not just loyal ocuk forum members.
Im sure there are lots of people who frequently use ocuk but not the forums and lots who use the forums and have lots of posts but hardly shop at ocuk.

To do that would most probably be financially unviable. There are far, far more non-forum customers, so the target audience would be too great to incur a profit, I should imagine.
The accounts system for the OcUK shop hasn't been in place as long as the forums though.
I do agree though that there are plenty of people on here that have only bought from OcUK once or twice (or never as some people have said they found the forums before the shop) and have been members here for 4 or 5 years.
You've got to look at it this way though, OcUK's forums cost them invariably more than they make from it. Spie has said in the past that the hosting fees and bandwidth costs for the for forums seriously outweigh any income he generates from the forums through the adverts (or whatever).
I presume this is one of Rupert's (or Mark's) ideas to try and at least recoup some of the loss that the forum creates.
Basically the cheapest option on the selector will be a free option for loyal forum members.
Can the normal cheapest option price not be deducted from the other delivery options?
It wouldn't be costing OcUK anything more, but gives the forum members other options incase something is urgent without having to go from free to £15 odd

Are they defining loyal members by how much you have spent at OCUK in the past?
Yewen said I had roughly the right idea with a cross between length of time you've been a member and post count (similar to the MM). I'd hazzard a guess the amount you've spent will be in there too.

I have to say, I get free shipping from a competitor, and that's one of the reasons I use them. The introduction of free shipping here (if I qualify...only bought once from OcUK) will bring my buying habits over to OcUK though as now that's about all that puts me off from buying here...especially as I really want a new LL case and OcUK are the only decent stockist.

As good as free shipping is it does not change the facts that normally you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
I have used OcUK twice this year, 1 order turned up with parts missing out of the box, still no reply from OcUK about that.

Good idea, RTB is working with his calculator to see if we can offer this.
Post period, be it GD, GH or even the mac sections.
We will be opening it to everyone who meets the criteria, more details will be posted later.
