When I get a new CPU then I'll sell the 4870 and get the X2 but I'll wait and see how much CPU speed is needed to release the full potential of the X2 4870 first.

My 8800GTX is perfectly fine for me now and the 4870 is faster so at least it's an upgrade. Some of the games I'm playing will receive a nice boost :D. How are you enjoying your 4870 over your 8800GT m8?.

I'm liking it a lot, beats the 8800GT all over the shop its awsome and with this accelero its even better, this card should hold me for a while yet, I'm hoping it will hold me into around summer next year (thats worst case scenario, I'm predicting I wont be able to afford upgrading been a student and living off student loan, I'll just have to hope I manage to get a job then might try out the 4870X2 and might even get a GTX260 at the same time to compare that to the 4870 :D, Nahalem is on the card aswell as new ram and mobo obviously and a new case, hopefully all from OcUK if they have more offers like this :p
 
Would be nice if they did free shipping based on total value of orders.....I've put away around £5000 of gear on here & directed lots of other people to OcUK
 
See I may want to pick up an E8*** processor and possibly an HD4870 but really I should buy them seperately to enhance the chances of this offer staying shouldnt i? :P

As has been said, doubtless a small margin will be built into the retail price. You also have to factor in increased sales which they may gain from other retailers.

We have only opened this up to the forum members only for this trial to see if it is something we can sustain at our current pricing.

Hopefully it all goes well and we can make it a permanant feature.
 
Nice to see that 250 posts + makes you "loyal" despite if their constructive or not, whereas someone who spends over £2k a year on average but doesnt have the "required" amount of posts miss out.

They really cant win can they:confused: They are giving something away for free, but there has to be some limits. It's not a personnal attack at you that you don't qualify, you're just unlucky.

There are soooooo many odd people on these forums. At the end of the day it's something for nothing, but still only a couple of quid. Really not worth geting stressed over, imo.

TBH i couldnt care less as I always drive to pick up orders (ChittyLink FTL) its the "principle" of how this was decided and how you define "loyal" - IMO (and this is my personal opinion) post counts do not = loyal.
