Just took advantage of this offer, but in my eagerness I hadn't realised the Delivery address post code was wrong and now I have received an email stating the order has been desptached! God knows whether I'll get it or not, rang Overclockers and they said it may get sent back to them!

School Boy Error!

Nice to see that 250 posts + makes you "loyal" despite if their constructive or not, whereas someone who spends over £2k a year on average but doesnt have the "required" amount of posts miss out.

Thanks OCUK

An apparent "non-loyal" customer (must remember this next time I have a big order)

Hear hear.....

Apparently there are also 10% off offers going into those people who havent ordered for a while!!

Would seem better to reward those actually spending money on parts & not just talking about them........

Which they still might, but people have been asking for this for a long time and now you're whining about it?

I don't see why people complain when at least some will benefit. Nobodies lost anything but some have gained!

Needs a minimum order value imo tho.

Yes there are some very misguided and naiive people on this thread, I can understand the bitterness of not having enough posts to qualify, but its not like they are being forced to shop here is it?

As I said in an earlier post I believe its a plan to bring back the shoppers who have been using these forums and shops since before the great forum purge, since the original pre-overclocked K7 Athlons and before.... (wibbly wobbly screen effect) ..Heh.. lets say circa 2000 and all the ones since then.

You wouldn't believe the bitterness and angst of some of the emails I've recieved regarding this. Sorry anyone who sends me an email re this I'd rather discuss it on here, and if you can't discuss it without getting smacked with the banhammer then I guess you need to brush up on your debating skills :)

No but really I do understand the frustration, but I don't agree with it. So the grand plan is to increase sales.. quell suprise eh? And dredging the forum masses who were probably once shoppers anyway but have fallen to the wayside or just plain gone for better bargains elsewhere makes good business sense to me.

Not really, how is being a loyal and regular customer and getting nothing for it naive ? even the 10% discount is for people that haven't purchased for over a year so basically We are being told be loyal and regular get nothing that someone who isn't and commits the mortal sin of using competitors can get.

Excuse me for having the minerals for saying I am not impressed but I am not, basically if I'd had not spent the grand I have here in the last year and spent it elsewhere I would now qualify for a 10% discount and free delivery.

So it's a reward for people that use competitors free delivery and 10% off why cant us people who have ordered loads in the last year have the 10% discount ?

Not much good if you alienate the big spenders, just to attract people who will buy a tube of Arctic silver per year....

I'd have bought a couple of those GTX's but the shipping is actually the thing holding me back as i feel a £500 order should be proof of loyalty enough without me needing post in forums in between doing a full time job

This does not have anything to do with loyalty, this is a company thanking a company that acknowledges their work and debate the products and company on friendly terms on a daily basis. Obiviously the people with lower post counts do not, and they still have the opportunity to go elsewhere ;)

This is just like joining some of the forums here in Denmark that give you serious rebates off nightclub entries and events if you're a loyal fella, it creates a community and a strong sense of belonging, look what Apple have done with that for instance ;)

You seem to be really annoyed that OcUK are offering discounts to people! :D

You qualify for this offer, not for the current 10% offer.

As I have said time and time again this is for the forum people, the 10% is for the customers we have not seen for a while and we have other stuff in the planning.

Why would we aim to annoy and alienate our regulars that are good and steady? If we aimed to do that then we should not have bothered but thankfully the majority can see that we are taking small steps to make things better.

Please C64 have a little faith and watch this space over the coming months as we are working at further improving all aspects of OcUK.

Missing the point slightly, the idea of this is just to give the forumers something for free as a thanks for making the community what it is. :)

Our loyal customers will get looked after, you may notice the order we are doing the trials as they do sort of correspond to the order that would have the least impact on our sales if something went wrong if you fancy looking at it that way. I prefer not to and take each trial on its own merit though!

I will not say anymore or give anything away just please watch this space.
