money will always buy people better healthcare, but the fact still stands that cancer has no definative cure, so shes not way beyond others with the same condition.

I don't see why we have some sort of responsibility to give a damn. Just because she's been on the TV doesn't mean we have to care. I personally don't care if she dies, the same way I wouldn't care if John Smith in London died. Although I reckon I would be quite sad if someone on the forum died, seems like more proximity.

I don't get the whole 'wouldn't wish cancer on anyone' lines as well. There's plenty of people out there who deserve to suffer, so I wouldn't care if they got cancer.

Her not deserving her fame has nothing to do with her cancer. You're using that as a point in this discussion that money earned from her fame gives her some mortality advantage over someone else with the disease. This, to you, is a tragic shame. That's fine, but would you honestly forfeit her money and lower her chances of survival based on your dislike for her?

No, my point was that I think it's a shame she got it in the first place, which has resulted in her being in a relatively advantageous position compared to others.

Of course it's a good thing that she has a better chance of surviving. I'm just saying that there are others out there who I would rather had her financial backing to help fight their illness.

Because if you don't know the person, have never met her and your paths have never crossed then why WOULD you care? She has had no impact on your life (Other than perhaps negative from the constant publicity a few years back).

You can pretend thats horrid all you like but it's not - i'd rather think it's more basic humanity than the ridiculous greif culture the UK has of caring rather too much about people they've never met.

Case in point: Diana.

When heath ledger died, I cared about that. because he was a good actor, loved his past movies.

When David Gemmel Died, I was a little bit upset, because he wrote fantastic books, and I wont get to read any new ones now he's died. Im a massive fan, it actually upset me!

Both had an impact on my life, in a good way.

Jade Goody, Is nothing in my life. Hense I feel nothing about the fact this has happened. I dont wish her dead, But I dont feel much about the situation.

So you only care for those who have given you something first? I find it bizarre that you do not feel at least some empathy for anyone upon hearing they have been struck down with an illness. This doesn't mean you need to dwell on it, but surely your initial reaction isn't entirely impartial.....is it?

I have no feelings for Jade Goody whatsoever but that doesn't warrant a "she's crap and doesn't deserve her money; what a shame if she makes it" attitude.

I agree to an extent but at least it's socially accepted by the majority; better than a "yeah, wikkid!!! she's dead" which by our very nature isn't.

That's your opinion and others have theirs. There could be people out there genuinely distraught at hearing this news because Jade meant something to them for whatever reason, similar to your justifications.
