Just got a phone call from the gf to say some blokes came in and forced her to empty the tills in the Spar up the road from where I live.

Completely shocked, I thought this was a safe neighbourhood but I guess I was wrong :(
Not allowed to go to the station with her so I get to sit here and worry about her.

******* scum threaten and scare the crap out of a petit girl just to get a couple hundred quid :(

Horrible thing to happen to anyone :(

At least she wasn't hurt anyway. Hopefully they'll catch the responsible people.

did she try punching them in the ovaries? or nuking them from orbit?

is there a point in the thread, other than a vent?

Sadly the world has come to this nowadays, and the way people get prosecuted is just retarded to be perfectly honest...Hopefully it's all on tap and helps with everything.

Hopefully she's alrite, and didn't get harmed herself (Obviously scared, but I mean physically)...Just be there when she gets back / needs picking up.

Redland is a pretty "up market" area and the only real robberies that go on are daft students getting their laptops nicked because they left the window open.

Gotta laugh at the other lass working with her, big polish lady actually wrestled one of them for a bit before realising they had weapons :|

e: They took 3 of the staff in one of the cars along with 2 police officers and the other car remained behind, no room for me to get in!

Same thing happened at a shop i used to work in, although luckily not whilst i was there. They forced the 2 female members of staff to kneel down and held guns to the back of their heads - execution style. Then with the male member of staff they forced him to open and empty the safe.

I can't even imagine how scared the staff must have been, terrible thing to happen

I think Ben M likes to increase his post count with silly posts :)

I could say the same of you, what, exactly, is the point in the OP? it isn't exactly going anywhere is it? It's just an update on your life, perhaps you should start a blog.

To be honest, if you really cared about her you'd down at the police station offering her your support in the form of a shoulder to cry on, or even just a few reassuring words. Yet, you're sat posting on an internet forum.

You could say that for most of the posts in General Discussion then.

Leave me be.

e: The station is miles away, taking her to one in the centre rather than the one up the road. I'm going to get in the other panda when it leaves!

Remember though it probbably wasn't a real gun.

Would you take the chance to test that?

OP: If I was you I would ring her up and say you are heading to the station to at least pick her up and make sure she gets home OK. Or at least make sure the Police drop her off at home.

Sorry to hear the news on this mate, unfortunately its becoming more common all over the place, I thought until last week we lived in a very safe part of the country until I was awoken by 3 lads breaking into a car straight across the road from me, I called 999 for the first time in my life. I realise this is a lot worse! Just saying im seeing it coming even into "nice" areas...

Hope your gf leaves her shop job now, my mum left a shop job after a spree of crime there, 2 weeks later on a shift she normally did a young girl was stapped in the chest for scratchcards! :(

I've already been down to see her and calm her down so she can talk to the police coherently. Hopefully the other car will be leaving soon so I can go to the station too.

She's shaken up but I think she'll keep working there. The manager was muttering something about stepping up the security as it was the indian restaurant next door that had to call the police as the shop has no panic button. Granted a panic button still won't protect you.
