Apologies if it is a double post

This week, we announced that the open beta for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will begin on September 7th, 2008. Hundreds of thousands of fans will be able to enter the gritty fantasy world of WAR to experience the thrill of RvR combat before the game goes live on September 18th, 2008.

Open Beta Begins – Sunday, September 7, 2008he Open Beta will be level capped and content restricted. Players will be allowed to choose any of the game’s 20 unique careers and advance through rank 20. They will also be free to explore and battle across Tiers 1 and 2 of each army’s homeland. Please note that any characters created during the Open Beta will NOT carry over into the live game as they will be wiped from the servers

Why make customers pay more for the open Beta when the caracters will not be transfered. Seems a bit like a time waste unless you dont need to have it pre-ordered.

They aren't making them pay more, companies release collectors editions all the time, the open beta is an added extra as well as in-game items, preview weekend (US) head start

Open Beta codes will be available from several locations (EA store for example) but all CE Pre-Orders done through official partners get into the Open Beta (and more importantly headstart).

I also believe that the Euro OB dates have been confirmed as the same as the US dates.

You also get a 3 day headstart over the masses with it too, thats a good 10-15 level head start before everyone else pours in :p

Head starts are only useful for those sados who will level as fast as they can and won't see daylight until they max out.

Those people frankly are welcome to it!

My rant is headed towords the EA store mainly, charging £10 more for 3 days is scandalous :O. Age of Conan was £5 and we had a fair few more days of a headstand if i recall.

Chronictank, after DAOC isn't it about time you stopped playing these MMOs? ;)

hehe i havent played a mmo for a while now, i dabbled in wow when it started but got bored
Rescently i re-started war to see what it was like prior to it going open beta :)

Don't think we will ever find a game akin to daoc in its hayday i am afraid, good times ^^

I think I'll wait until I hear reports of the high level content before I open the ol' wallet. There seems to be a trend in MMO's -- polish the low levels, hurry it out the door, then finish the mid/end game after release on subscription money.

Not saying this is the case here. But I've seen the signs too many times to think otherwise.

high level content? - it's RvR what more do you need?

Theres quite a lot of info about this game atm.... maybe have a look yourself ? you would be surprised :D

Espec with NDA now down. I must say though this game is mainly about pvp/rvr thats always been the point of the game so if you dont like that then this game wont appeal to you.
