Reading OC and this just ran across my lounge...

Yeah, think it's a common house spider. Aggressive little buggers they are too.

Agressive? I have only ever seen them run in the opposite direction of me :p

I've only been bitten by a spider once and that was a garden spider i was playing with a bit too much when i was a lot younger, the house spiders have always seemed timid to me

As I was reading this thread i turned round as something caught my eye and this little fella was running across my floor

anyway i caught him and just put him outside my back door:D

It's a spy from Lord Recluse :p

It will call in wolf spider soon, and maybe a crab spider or 2, but they're the least of your worries, if a widow shows up you're toast ;)

e-beer to whoever knows what I've been playing non-stop for weeks :D

Ha! Not as bad as finding one of these in the shower though:

Still not quite sure what it is but more likely than not, it bites!

the face looks similar to a camel spiders but u dont get them in the uk(as far as i know) and they probably bite quite hard

Every time a spider thread comes up I get genuinely concerned that 90% of the forum population are utter wetters that would be scared of their own shadow.

AGRESSIVE house spider? Give me strength, they are about as aggressive as a kiwi fruit.

I had one the size of the OP's spider join me in the shower the other day!
I drowned it :D
Still flipping scary though at 7am, or maybe that was just my face in the mirror :p

Agreed. Strangely they are usually the same people who claim they would tell their boss to "**** right off" if asked to stay on late at work, or would deck anyone who looked at their pint the wrong way.

There is a reason that spider has huge "fangs" (pedipalps) - he is a mature male and those are his man parts.

Guess a lot of ocuk guys have never been to Australia and will never go.... You would be ****ed.

ha ha im a great big wimp when it comes to spiders, so that one in the pic does look big :)

However when i was at my cousins house in australia for his wedding last year he calmly said to me come on out to the garage to see the new car.

Once we got in the garage fair enough we were admiring the car but then from the corner of my vision i noticed what looked like curtains in the corner, they were no curtains!!

It was a huntsman spider and when i said to my cousin WTF is that! he was like its only a huntsman, harmless keeps away all the cockroaches and bugs. Calm as you like, once i seen this one i was on full alert the rest of the holiday im tellin ya the thing was easily the size of full outstretched hand.

My house seems full of these things at the moment. I am also finding stick insects inside.

The spider count though is ridiculous. Everyroom has 2 or three of these things.
