Except that she allegedly put a 6 month (or something like that) stop on sex between them. What a genius plan, the man is unfaithful so to prevent that happening in future you put together the very conditions most likely to bring that around. I don't know who the smart one in the relationship is, I've got my suspicions that a kettle could comprehensively outthink them both.
 
I think the point was if the only reason he was with her was for sex then he'd be gone before 6 months and she would have not risked getting pregnant, etc on an idiot

I think you've got it totally the wrong way around actually.
If he's going to be faithful, then he'll do it because he loves her, not because he's getting sex. It's a good plan in my opinion, it'll show his true colours in that area.
