*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

Same! I got so excited when a friend told me like 3 years ago about a Warhammer MMO.

The fact that it's so close to being released is driving my bonkers!

For comparison; The DAoC zerg :D

Game looks so old now lol, still 2003 :p

Great game though, had many a laugh on Daoc :)

Especially with my midgard healer throwing around mezzes all over the place. No mez in WAR though, but I'll still be a healer :D

I hope the gameplay isn't like DAoC never liked that game for some reason. Maybe i started playing it when it started to look dated.

Some aspects of the gameplay are similar to Daocs (except the PvE is better), although there isnt anywhere near as much CC as there was in Daoc. Depends what aspects of Daocs gameplay you didnt like really.

I thought of a question, I always play on pvp servers and just wondered what the deal is with zones in WH, anyone whos played daoc and wow will know you could level to a certain point before having to move to contested zones, so is it the same principle in WH and how far can you level before it becomes ganking time? :)

It may have been many reasons, graphics were quite boring and the fact that my friend invited me onto a private server and power leveled me up. I had no grasp of any gameplay elements. I guess me playing WoW for 2 years did'nt do it any justice either as i thought WoW was the best online game ever made at the time.

I have to say i have a more wide spectrum when playing games now and enjoy more genre's and things i never would have touched 3 years ago. I have a feeling this will be good though.

A few mins action I recorded from an earlier zerg where choas were pinned back to their warcamp:

It's 1280x1024 res but quality isn't too great as I simply dumped it from windows movie maker on default settings. Gives an idea though.

I've only been playing WH for 3ish hours, so be kind :p.

I loled when you got knocked off the cliff :D

Nice vid

Ahhh yeah I can see how that would do it, private servers are always a pale comparison of the real servers imo.

Well essentially every zone in WAR has rvr areas (in Daoc terms, imagine that each of the normal areas in Daoc also had a frontier area within it), and you can level just through pvping from start to finish. So you could do it straight from level 1 if you really wanted.

However, if you go back to earlier tiers you get turned into a chicken so you cant kill people who are too far lower than you.

Having said that, there will be open rvr servers, but as yet they havent announced how the chicken rule will work on those servers (or if there will be one), so it could be that on those servers you could go back at level 30 and kill level 6's. Will have to wait for more info to be released about that server type.
