Just started playing with my 4850 properly, but CCC dies spectacularly with overdrive enabled, even when the clocks aren't changed.

I've got AMD GPU clock tool but from what I see you have to dial in the clocks everytime you start up, is there anything better out?

used overdrive here, with the 8.7's and the 8.8's and seems fine apart from the clock limit is only 700. running at 700/1115 at the moment but nice and cool, so is it a temp issue for you?

That works really nice, no more crashes, runs 700/1000 no probs. Have to disable vista driver signing on Vista64 though.

Nice one :). I've used this in the past but not to overclock with ATI, for that I used ATI Tool which had voltage play. I used this to set AA/AF as I've never used the CCC on all the ATI cards I've used and as I was planning to do the same with the 4870. Luckily Ray Adams had resurfaced and made an update for the 4 series which is great. Then I tried the overclocking and fan options out and they worked fine which saved me a lot of hassle as well as letting me be CCC free.

Is the Vista driver signing the UAC?. It's been that long since I've had it installed. I usually disabled that feature right away. Retro XP user here :p.
