Dude, you're 14 don't deprive yourself of food or exercise at this vital time in your life or you will regret it when you won't be as strong as you could have been when you become older, you won't be as tall as you could have been when you're older and you body might not become proportionally right.

I know looks is important to a kid your age but once you've fully grown thats when you can do all the dieting and stuff that you want.

The way you should look at is - eat as much as you want but make it healthy, for gods sake eat some meat - i'm guessing you might be a muslim? Forget that crap I did and eat meat on the side so your parents don't know lol. And exercise a lot take up loads of sports.

I'm making perfect sense.

How the hell do you propose meat be killed? Are you happy with the way they are killed if not, how should they be.

There must be some reason why people are vegetarian, if meat is killed the way the dont mind, then dont see why else they would be. Its not like every one hates meat.

So you think the only two possible reasons for being vegetarian are: Not being happy with the way animals are slaughtered and not liking the taste of any meat. Seriously? Tell me that is not what you are saying.

From what I hear, there probably isn't a single person who has eaten meat that doesn't like the taste of at least one type

I don't deprive myself of food, I'm not muslim but from what I know muslims do eat meat, I'm jain, though not a very strict one because I eat eggs and dairy products. In my eyes I don't think I'm depriving myself of food. I'm proportionally fine, sure I'm a bit short for my age and a bit light for my height, but not everybody is perfect, I know people my age and my height who are overweight. in the summer hols the only real excercise I do is a lot of walking, footie and cricket in the garden and weight training every now and again with very light dumbells. at school though I do lots of excercise, gym 2 or three times a week + rugby football cricket etc, + on average at school due to the siting of the buildings, we walk a few kilometres each day anyway... sorry to wind on :P

what exactly do you eat a day?

don't just say what you think you eat, but write down what you eat today, then post it later

so far, I've had 2 glasses of water, a glass of milk, a bowl of porridge, 3 chapatis with los of different vegetables, a bananna, an orange, an apple, two slices of toast with butter and plum jam (brown bread), a whethers original. This list will be a lot bigger by the end of today!

EDIT: Thank you for getting the thread back to the original direction

For the love of God. eat some protein.

As a vegie you should be getting a good mix of beans/pulses/protein/nuts... To compensate. Your diet is lacking an entire food group.

I have a good source of protein, I eat lots of beans pulses eggs milk cheese etc, is there any protein group I'm missing(bearing in mind that I'm allergic to nuts)

There's no protein in this (next to nothing. And you our over half way through the day. Veg gives you hardly any calories. So you can keep banging on about how much veg you have, but it's only good for vitamins and minerals. Not for energy that the body needs.

Sign up to something like the www.thedailyplate.com and track your food and exercise for a week. It's totally free.
