Gainward GTX 260 Box Contents

I received a Gainward GTX 260 yesterday which seems to have already been used. The box contents included just 1xDVI to VGA, 1xDVI to HDMI and a driver CD. Can someone here please confirm whether the Gainward card should include extras such as Audio cable (for output via the DVI-HDMI dongle), warranty cards or 6pin power convertors?

The card itself was covered in greasy fingerprints and light scratches:mad:. Unfortunately I did not had time to test it because work kept me late last night.

The paper work /manual should list what is included in the box
That would help if I had a manual or any papaerwork, but I don't.

edit: I have raised a webnote asking for a replacement. Hopefully I won't have to go through the whole RMA replacement before getting a new card back in 2 weeks or so. I am not even 100% sure bists are missing, but I am not happy at receiving a used card.

Has anyone else purchased one of these cards? If so, please list your box contents and whether it appeared new or used.

HI there

None of the cards have been used by OcUK and your now our second complaint so we shall raise the issue with Gainward and find out if they have had an issue.

Feel free to raise an RMA and get it swapped out.

They're probably referbs from Gainward sold as new maybe? But you would think they would clean them up if that's the case.

Or would these not be sold to the store Gibbo?

Thanks for the reply.

I have requested a replacement via webnote and await the reply. Do you knowi f it is possible for OcUK to send out the replacement before receiving and processing my return? I do not want to wait a week or two for an RMA to be processed.

It would be good to talk to your support department but the number has been busy all morning.

I also bought one of these Gainward cards from OCUk. The box contents are the same as listed by the OP.

I had to buy an additional molex -> 6 pin PCIe adapter as my power supply only has one 6 pin connector.

Hope that helps.

OcUK have processed my refund (I did not want to risk getting another 2nd hand Gainward as a replacement).

Now what should I order? I am tempted by the Leadtek GTX 280 but know it would be overkill for 1680x1050.

I don't know, all you GTX280 owners buying the card and then deciding you don't want to keep it so you rob the dongle, leads and manual and then claim it was like that when you got it just so you can have your money back :p

I must have also shovelled tons of dust into the card, mangled the box and scratched the heatsink as well.

No, my card was 100% used before I ever saw it. It looked like it had been passed around a Lan party for everyone to try.

Just jesting you :p:D

in a minority of cherry picked games though, that's the point :)

The games were not cherry picked at 8xaa. There were 4 games in total and the 4870 at 8xaa was faster than the 280 in 3 out of 4. At 4xaa the 280 was ahead in most so this shows just how much of a hit the gtx series had taken when the aa was pushed up to 8x. There was another review showing 8xaa performance somewhere with 8 different games that showed the same thing but can't find it no more its on these forums somewhere.
