Looking at the D60's spec gets me mighty excited for the D90, comparing the D60 and the D300 (while also looking at how older models compared), i imagine the D90 would be as follows...

some nice features

I like the idea of the HD movie mode aslong as it works well and isnt just a gimmick, wonder how that would affect the Camcorder market

I was gonna buy a D300 but this might be a better option with cash left for some nice glass.

I wouldn't have thought the spare cash would get you much--the D90 surely can't debut vastly below current D300 prices (~£950) which makes it less of a good buy IMO. Perhaps in time it'll drop closer to £500--and who knows, it might debut cheaply too--and therefore make more sense, but atm I wouldn't even consider one over a D300.

You'd also look a bit of a plank standing there 'filming' a scene with what is to everyone around you a Stills camera...

You'd look like you were a bit slow at taking a photo, and people in shot would freeze expecting a nice 'Click' from an SLR, only not to get one!!..

RRP price will be £699, hopefully some places will sell it for a little less.

a nice addition the video mode, will canon ever do one though? as they allready have a camcorder side of things. hmmm indeed.

Thats good, it takes the MB-D80 grip.
Could be interested in D90, even though i really want a D2Xs

AF? autofocus? sorry im a noob :(

Yes - in some of the autofocus modes you can use the round 4-way controller thing to select the autofocus point in the viewfinder you want - if your main subject is not in the centre of the shot you can pick the little rectangle closest to it. The lock switch prevents you from doing this by mistake.

To be honest, unless you are in the habit of pressing the controller by mistake it is a waste of space and you can leave it unlocked.

I'd ditch my EOS400 and the lenses with it for this if that HD video also works out.

I don't care if I look like a plank when taking it - to be able to out this feature at a quality level in an SLR would make a huge difference for me. It is certainly going to eat batteries and memory for breakfast though!
