You shouldn’t feel bad about taking time off work to play a new game, we’ve all done it. What, only me, oh… :o
 
Remember that whoever you get the game from, you'll only now be able to play from the 7th in the beta. Right now that means getting a digital version of the game but GOA have said themselves that more e-/shops will come on board. So if you wait a few more days you could end up with a boxed version of the game and open beta access for about the same price.
 
aye at least you can now download the beta client which is better than nothing. Hell there was rumors that GOA wasnt going to let people download the client until the 6th so you have 1 day to download 12gb :p

I have to give GOA there dues they have surprised me quite a bit. Considering a lot of people are putting them down i think they are doing a good job with WAR so far.

Yes, i ordered from the place that sell early access and 2 ingame items and did not receive any instructions so im guessing Mythic/EA have not sent out any instructions to etailers/retailers.
 
Now Here is a question. Is the Open Beta I have downloaded the same as the Gold Software? IE is it free from bug tracking and other stuff or am I going to have to reinstall after release?
 
yes it most likely is more up to date or will be once the OB patch comes down, The OB client will be patcheable on release. So no need for a reinstall.

I am considering downloading WAR from D2D in order to get access to the open beta so that I can have a little time getting to grips with the game and playing a bunch of different characters before I commit to one on the live servers. Is there anyone here that has downloaded a game from D2D and if so what are their servers like in terms of download speeds?

I went with D2D yesterday and I have my beta key already. You don't need to download from D2D and just get the client from the bit torrent or GOA's torrrent
