Yeh but if that happens on an empty motorway at 3am rather than rush hour traffic only the driver will get hurt. If you don't do something because X Y or Z might happen then i dunno how you live your life.

Doing 120mph on a b road whilst in the back of an ignis sport,that was pretty scary. Think i've been at 70 odd in a 30 then handbraked at a juction....the guy is quite a ****.

I always find these threads disturbing. There is absolutely no need to ever drive faster than the speed limit. I have sped plenty of times but 50/60 in a 30 limit is just retarded.

Yep, you may be the best driver in the world, totally pro and in control. Thats not really going to help the foolish child who runs across the road right in front of you, is it? (Yes I am aware of how unlikely that may be - especially at night). There may arise a situation where a crash is unavoidable and speeding will just make such a situation worse. Just, why do it?

You may be in control but you can't trust everyone else on the road or any other hazards. Some drunk driver swerves across the road... game over. Its made worse at speed.

See, when i was posting earlier, i didn't want to come across like nitefly. I think speeding on a nice A road or a nice clear motorway is totally justifiable, but all i was saying earlier is that 60mph (or 100mph) will be much to fast in 99.999% of 30 zones.

Do you really think writing in new laws for the road will make it safer, it would be crazy, how about law stating if your car has ABS you can do 15 mph more than a car with no ABS.

I like how you think people who don't speed on public roads are political correct losers.

Because I think its quite clear that those people are idiots and it wasn't worth mentioning.

I was not taking this from just this thread, over the last few years I have noticed that you seem to defend speeding or try to justify it. Its just find it odd. I know what all the fact and figures show - speeding statistically speaking isn't the cause of most accidents. But still, when they do happen, speeding will amplify the seriousness of the accident. Its just 'damage control'.

I did it because I could. I'm not trying to justify it or say its a good thing to do. Or a sensible thing to do.

I'm sure that when people on this forum speed, they do it as I do it - when there are literally no cars on the road and I know the road well. In such circumstances I would edge over the limit somewhat.

50 in a 30 zone is just totally ridiculous by any standards. Let alone 60! Just I refuse to understand how it could ever be acceptable.
 
I love the way some people on OcUK **** on about stuff like this. Your correct a lot of 30 roads are 30 for a reason but some are just CRAZY. I dont know about you guys but a lot of 30 roads in my area, NO ONE does 30 apart from the oldies. If i drive at 30 i get people up my arse and generally your seen as a PITA ....

Its all about using your common sense .......
