Fixtures - 30/31st August (Spoilers)

This should be 3 points for Liverpool, but they are playing as badly as Man Utd did the other day against Zenit

This is the kind of game where the 'pool's League chase faulters imo, whether its tactics or playing the wrong people in the wrong positions (or even wrong transfers) - 95% thru the middle

Man Utd arent playing any better, but they rarely start well so this should be where Liverpool and Arsenal have to make the most of the "bonus" points available - and they just arent

Disgusting negative play, taking off Keane and putting on Aurelio, taking off Kuyt and putting on Benayoun.

I said it at half time, and I will say it again. I dont think Benitez had any intention of trying to win this match, I think he primarily played for a draw, and got the draw he wanted. The 0-0 I mentioned came true.

Today we were negative, lacking ambition, hugely lacking cohesion, our passing was simply awful for the majority of the time, far too many players walking around instead of running, I disagree entirely with both Benitez team selection for the match and his substitutions.

At a time when other teams had dropped points, we had a glorious opportunity to really push for the 3 points and get an early season advantage. As it is there appeared to be absolutely no intent to try for the 3 points. Havent seen the stats yet, but I dont think we had a single shot on target in 90 mins.

I know we havent started the season well, but todays performance was a real punch in the gut. Frankly imo, we need someone to give us a right trouncing and make a few people around Anfield wake up and smell the coffee. (not the fans)

Looking at the BBC match text, this got me chuckling -

"Liverpool. Hundreds of millions spent and play like Bolton."

then the follow up from a Bolton fan -

"Hundreds of millions saved and we play like Liverpool."

:D

Who has been one of our "*******" best players since coming on.
After Torres went off he refused to play £20m striker Keane upfront, he could have even chose Kuyt or brought Babel on as a striker if he was so pent up on keeping the abysmal system he uses, but instead put on Ngog.

Options, I'm talking options here. The "******* Ngog" wasn't aimed at the player, it was at the choice by Benitez. You know, considering we where playing so crap he decides not to change it but instead does a straight swap for Torres with Ngog whose an unproven player.

All game, pretty much like the Liege game we where screaming out for a change in setup and formation, but no, he refuses to allow us to play football (I'm not even talking fancy football here, I'm talking the minimalistic type of football where you have a team that plays together.)

I'm dreading the Man U game. If we play anywhere near as badly as we have today then they'll slaughter us.

If Berba finally arrives, you may not have to wait that long - your next (home) match :D

(especially if Torres and Stevie dont play)

I agree. As much as a don't want us to lose, I just can't stand the way Benitez has got us playing. We need a wake up call otherwise we're just going to turn into an embarrassment.

Torres' injury today was a result of the way we where setup. We can't have him upfront chasing scraps from nothing but a defensive team behind him. Torres trying to scrounge up anything that is given to him will always result in him straining himself because he knows he's the only one that can cause a threat in the team we played today.

I honestly think Benitez is a moron. He thinks he's smarter than everyone else.

Like I said earlier, the United game may well come as the wake up call we need because the fans certainly wont like the crap Benitez gives out at Anfield.
