How anal are you?

And that's what most of us are doing...parking defensively where possible.

TBH When I see a Porsche taking up 2 spaces in a car park I don't really begrudge it that much because of the idiots that have no respect for other people's property. :(

I genuinely hate leaving the Roady in a public car park, not because i'm worried some idiot will dent it, it's plastic, but because i've lost track of the number of people who can't park and seem to think that they have the right to park over the white line. My car's small so leaves a nice gap either side due to it's size, other drivers seem to think the space can be used by them, problem is I then can't get into the car. I had to almost drag some bint away from sunday lunch in a pub a few weeks back because she'd parked less than 8cm away from my door with 3 clear bays next to the right of her car that had been clear when she 'parked'.

That said I refuse to park like a gimp in two bays. That's just an invitation for someone to do something less than nice to your car.

I once saw a guy steal a Roady, he walked up to it, put it in his Trenchcoat pocket and walk off.

True story.

Bodywork is all plastic appart from the rear boot lid and er .. the front boot lid. Fox I understand as it doesn't have a circular/oval badge with at least some blue in it then you are never going to give it a seccond look.... and that just makes me like it all the more :)

I'm always wary of people who feel the need to say 'Ture story' or similar and drive BMW's, they're normally trying to convince me it's not just another 3 series with M3 stick on tat ;) Anyway this threads not about my car!

Well no, to be honest its more to do with the fact it has a totally crap engine.

You've driven a remapped one then ? The last time I saw a smart (with the same engine) in the news it had won the Cannonball Run Europe this year, before that the last thing I read in the press was one in Germany had done 100k+ for a small turbo engine isn't that bad at all considering it had no work done to the engine itself in that time other than normal servicing, infact Parkers rate the brand in general quite highly according to the interview they gave about residuals/reliability.

I love all of these nicknames that appear for cars that only the die-hard fanboys know. (Not a pop, just an observation).

A friend of mine has a Smart Roadster. She loves it and seems to think it's loads of fun. I wouldn't have one myself but they are certainly different, if a bit pricey for what they are (a lot of money for something I suspect would go pop approaching 100k).

ever driven one? stupidly good fun to drive, and done the lanes will outpace a lot of more "serious" cars. I was very sceptical of them till I went out in my mates missuses one, was very impressed. Its shortly to be remapped too, can't wait for another go, proper fun car imho!

To the fella that owns one, you are right to avoid it getting damaged, not cheap to sort!

Lol, reminds me that the passenger seat on my car has to be the same height and distance from the dash as the driver's seat, symmetry ftw?

now how to get a steering wheel on that side too...
