Into the wild

*spoilers will follow don't scroll down if you don't wanna see spoilers*

Being blunt and how it was.... his luck was pushing it ever since he got into the first car while he was hitch hiking. I've never read the book and have never heard the story of him before watching the film, yet I was very surprised by the way his life did end. It was on the cards right since the film started. He was educated well and very bright and it came to a complete surprise how he die.

I was going to say that there wasn't enough time spent on empathising on the bad upbringing he had, with his parents. But even wiki states that these scenes in the film were over done! Makes me wonder what kind of person Christopher was.. in that sense is thought provoking. How this person could disown his family for so long, even his sister who did nothing bad to him. How he wound up in a very bad situation, I would say he was very ignorant and fool hardy. Not having the sensible tools needed to save his life, a detailed map of the area being one. Lost in nature and fun.. without realising any danger.

Saw Rounders a few days ago, a great film if you're into poker and a great film even if you're not. It starred Damon and Norton, both whom I'm an big fan of and they were as good as ever in this. I don't think the writers of the film had much of a clue about poker though, near the start of the film Damon got felted playing hold'em with a full house, nines full of aces while the other guy had aces full of nines, Damon later admitted he got "outplayed", I mean wtf that's a standard cooler?

Anyway that aside it was a film worth recommending and I give it 8/10.

Just watched Under Siege 1 and 2, yay for bone crunching, You cant beat seagal lines like after killing the last badguy in the under siege 2. "no one beats me in the kitchen" its just godlike :D

Never Back Down (Blu-ray) Now I have to admit I bought this as was just adding stuff to the basket but it wasnt actually bad at all, infact it was a damn good fight movie. Totally predictable but still good and Djimon Hounsou brought a bit of class to it.

Saw Hellboy 2 last night. Guillermo del Toro really knows his stuff and you can tell he's put a lot of love into it. I can't figure out if I prefer this one to the original or not, but they both have a very self-aware humour about them. Nothing feels too forced, and it felt like a proper, natural progression from one to the other.

Saw Seth MacFarlane's (Family Guy) name come up in the credits and looked up what his input was into the film - he does the voice of Johann Krauss (superb character btw)! Thought that would have been obvious as he does the voice of the German fish in American Dad, but it was an entirely different accent.

Run Lola Run was last nights film for me, one I've been meaning to watch for a while but now I've watched it I can't decide if it was great or just quite good. It probably wasn't helped by having both the English subtitles and English dubbing on for the first 20 minutes, they don't match up to each other very well and the English dubbing has stupid accents. Aside from that quite interesting to see the idea of what a big difference little changes could make.

Rogue Unrated
Pretty average killer crocodile movie from the guy who did Wolf Creek.
Not enough action scenes though and the ending has one of the most intense endings ever filmed...according to the box anyway.
Photography is awesome - Austrailia's Northern Territory, but honestly, I want croc action, not a ******* advertisment for where to head for my holidays.

Good review got a chuckle :D

Just watched The Sum of all fears, Forgot how awesome this movie is, the tension and buildup are amazing. About to watch another jack ryan, The hunt for red october.

The Bank Job, the usual from a Jason Statham flick, entertained me for a couple of hours :)

Edit from above: I really enjoyed Run Lola Run, one of those quirky films. It's making me think of Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang so I'll have to dig them both out and watch again.

Watched this a few days ago too and i thought it was great. Tried with the dubbing at the start but it was awful, so i moved to German with English subs. Very 'different' type of film, however i kept thinking of the Simpsons episode that ripped it off throughout :)

Watched Felon a few days ago, really good film and would recommend it.

Also watched Street Kings, another good film.
