been playing the last few hours and got really into it now tho! then it got dark and i got scared again! lol

Have you put the dynamic music on? its not good at all. haha!

Just so you know if you patch it and have already started you'll need to start again!

Yeah, it's got something to do with the spawn locators for NPC's and objects and stuff. Need to start a new game so it can load in the spawn file correctly or something.

yeah should have thought about it before i installed it. was that same on SoC
ah well not to worry!

Also when i restarted it wont play at all!! the screen is all messed up! tried restarting a few times but all the same. gonna reinstall now. anyone else had this prob??
 
If anyone has a prob after installing the patch like me. I've done a complete reinstall (game and patch) and its working fine, seems harder now tho! d'oh... enjoy!
 
I found the original stalker very hard as you were often attacked at every turn and enemies would take a million bullets to gun down. Still it was part of the appeal but i'm not sure I could take a harder game.
 
I was going to sell my copy based on the reviews but so glad I did not as I am enjoying it so far. My PC is getting on a bit apart from graphics card yet I am happy with performance relative to how the game looks. I am running it in DX9 high setting with medium AF and AA turned up 2 notches whatever that is. I played around with different resolutions while keeping 'do not scale' on in the control panel and for whatever reason I am getting far better performance at 1600 x 900 rather than my native 1680 x 1050. Graphically I think the game looks awesome even at these settings and I would love to see it in action at really high resolutions in full DX10 mode.

Along with my copy which I received today came a Razer Deathadder and ExactMat mouse pad combined with a new Eclipse 2 keyboard. I am in heaven and it's so much easier getting the headshots with this combo.

People always say this, but it really wasn't the case.
One or two bullets to the head and enemies dropped.
