*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

Ok you do that. Meanwhile I'll be checking back every few hours to see if progress has been made on the AC page.

That's what i'll be doing rather than overreacting and getting upset.

Leodido you do know the beta is not just about the game, but getting everything ready for release? I'd rather have registration problems now than when it goes live. Although i do agree they have gone about things the wrong way, just hoping it won't be the same on release.

i think it is time for a little TF2 to ease the tensions !

V1bez: yes i know, but when you can't make a WEBSITE work how do you want them to be able to manage a game :o Do i have to remember you also what Iainc told us? Don't worry everything will be fine, i spoke to the network engineer lol...

ps: Oh and 2 weeks from release a game with this amount of people looking forward to play should be almost complete, just a few minor bugs etc... The website is really not the hard part of the project

I know the website sucks compared to the american version don't it. I also know they promised things would be fine etc, but in the end still a beta although im gagging to play lol.

I hope all the problems get ironed out before headstart/release, if not then you'll see me moaning as i'll then be paying for the service.

Actually the website is probably the hardest part prior to launch. There was always going to be problems when you have 100k+ hammering the database. The US signup had major problems in the first couple of days but due to the fact that they gave themselves 2 weeks leeway meant that problems were ironed out. That's the mistake Goa have made...just have to deal with it for now. Lynch mobs need not be armed just yet unless the same occurs at headstart.

Whats the problem? I registered over a hour ago, granted I cant do anything with the new account, cant verify it via the link they emailed due to authid.goa.com being messed up.

But hey at least I have an account I can't use, that's something. Woot beta!

its a free open beta, just because you cant register and play isnt the end of the world!!!! ... be patient, im sure theres other things to do until its up and running

The last step on the long road to the Open Beta is now here! We have been distributing open beta keys through Collector's Edition pre-orders, premium Standard Edition Pre-orders and partnerships with websites. If you have an Open Beta key, Register a new account and enter it here. Please note that Closed Beta testers do not need to create a new account as Open Beta access is automatically granted all previous testers.

A light patch on 205mb will be available soon and the Open Beta begins early this afternoon. We will be updating you with the exact time that the servers will be open before then. Please note that at this time you should only use your Open Beta key, codes for the head start or bonus items are not yet valid.

Some of you are experiencing a 414 error. This is a time-out message, please wait a few minutes and try again.

For those of us who played DAoC from launch, also managed by GOA, it's simply showing that they haven't learned from their own past mistakes. This makes us worry rather a lot, considering that GOA are still the only company looking after a mmorpg that managed to corrupt their own database on a live English server and delete equipment from characters. And take over a month to correct it.

They previously had a flash website set up for one of the expansions (SI? TOA? Cant remember) that imploded upon release and meant that no one could register their purchased keys for days.

Communication was generally rubbish, and there was a myriad of other problems, including rollbacks, server downtime & being months behind the US in patches.

This latest registration saga for WAR is exactly the same as previous sagas with GOA several years ago.

That's why some of us are worried. GOA have had all the time in the world to sort this, and open registration - and yet they didn't.

^Says it all. I slated them for having possibly the most unfriendly, poor website back in the day comprised of well over a dozen flash elements. It was so bad that Opera let alone FF didn't like it. It killed 56k users, and annoyed those on early broadband connections.

Here we are again with now a full flash website that is frankly crap.
