*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

-There has been mixed messages regarding players who had previously created accounts at war-europe.com but who was never a part of the closed beta and hence not automatically given Open Beta access. I have previously stated that these players must create new accounts. This is not correct; anyone who has an account at war-europe.com but does not currently have Open Beta access is free enter their Open Beta key here: http://www.war-europe.com/#/myproductkey/. We will clarify this in the news shortly.

Bunch of f'muppets. Could they not have mentioned this on the NEWS page ages ago? Comms = not their forte.

I felt it was made explicity clear previously that that's exactly what you DID have to do unless you had a closed beta account (which is the way they worded it afair)

EDIT: To clarify, that they said "you have to create a new account if you don't have a closed beta account" hence why me (and others) painfully set a new one up this morning...

Well I hadn't seen that myproductkey url link mentioned anywhere until just now. Its also been mentioned on another forum that it hadn't been mentioned before.

To be fair to them, as he says the idea is to test the systems. They could have let people register in advance but that isn't how its going to happen on launch day is it? Okay some people will have early access but in theory most people are going to get it on launch day and want to register, just hope they do actually learn from this.

The fact that people are PAYING (via the CE) to play the open beta, it should be fine.

It's a farce is really is. There are better, much better ways of load testing a server.

just hope they do actually learn from this.
Thats the thing man, they don't learn. For those who saw GOA handle Euro Daoc we all know at how laughable they are. They couldn't even make a half decent Euro website compared to Mythic's own US one and 4-5yrs later our Euro WAR one is basically identical.

Everything is playing out just as it should do with these guys in charge.

Well, I'd have had some sympathy if they hadn't been so dismissive of suggestions that there might be issues launching the account management elements a few hours before the beta servers, particularly when they said:

our website has already been dealing with traffic that makes the expected rush for signups pretty trivial. We get more visits per day that the total number of open beta keys in existence across the world. We have launched major timed events before and we have a lot of experience in making sure that key systems are able to handle the pressure. The account pages are coming, they have been tested thoroughly and we aren't concerned about the stability of the server

Posted onto our irc channel LOL

I've never actually heard of GOA and didnt play Daoc, but a quick google tells me they are part of France Telecom, suddenly it all makes sense.

I knew a post in their favour wasn't gonna go down well. :) You're right, the fact that they were so sure it was gonna be fine is worrying.

Still don't think anyone can complain though, its beta testing, nobody makes you help them test it. And nobody is paying for it, CE people are getting it as an added bonus, if you can call it that.

Still, its all very frustrating.

I didn't know much about WAR as I've never played those old board game thingies. So when I heard some mates going on about WAR Online I thought I'd give it a shot even though imo todays MMO's are all dumbed down cack.

I navigated to the Euro WAR page and pondered who was running this, if not Mythic? I scrolled down and almost cried when I saw that GOA logo :p

They say that people that already had accounts on War-Europe can just login with them and enter there keys.

BUT! The service isn't even online :/
