I used to love Star Wars more than my own mother. But since George Lucas crapped out episodes 1-3 my interest in Star Wars has gradually come to the point where I have no interest in it at all. When the latest film was released I didn't get remotely excited.

Main reasons Star Was was ruined:

  • Jar Jar Binx
  • Force is actually not spiritual - it's about how much Yakult you drank as a young child
  • Jar Jar Binx
  • The new films ruined the legacy of the originals - the difference in quality is shocking
  • Jar Jar Binx

Anyone else feel the same?

Overall, I love the originals better but that doesn't take away the fact that the newer ones are still visually fantastic. **** the cheesy bits, they look stunning.
 
Nope - can't agree.
I have enjoyed everything Star Wars related and I'm sure I always will.

The "problem" with the plot for Episodes 1, 2 & 3 is that they were more or less already set because of Episodes 4, 5 & 6.
There simply wasn't much room because of what was already there.
Also there is actually a storyline that involves a certain amount of concentration in Episodes 1, 2 & 3.
Episodes 4+ follow an extremely simple storyline which requires no brains at all - it's a fairy story set in space.
1-3 do actually involve you thinking, seeing how people are manipulated etc.

As for Jar Jar Binks - you are totally against that character and then rave on about a film containing Ewoks?
 
Why does no one seem to get that your meant to hate jar jar binxs, he is one of the reasons the senator gets emergcy powers, and thus uses the clone army to take contol.
Admitently they could have made a much less annoying person to hate as contradcitory as that sounds.

Have you been in some sort of angry coma for the last 3 years, this is a bit of a blast from the past no?
 
I like the way everyone canes Jar Jar Binks, and conveniently forgets that C3PO is a complete novelty comedy ****head

It's just that you were 9 when you first watched Star Wars, and now you're a grown up.
 
1 and 2 where pointless and to drawn out, everybody wanted to see 3 and its a great film, casting was awful, truly awful in all 3 films but the hype they they had due 3 classic films, I doubt you we will ever see a series of films have as much hype 1-3 had just because of its predecessors.

Too much stick is given because of how good ep 3-6 was.
