**SPORE**

whats the multiplayer mode to it?

While you're connected, and assuming you have chosen to upload them, all your Spore creations will be shared on a central server. This way your creations will appear in other peoples games.

I keep getting gord's and misterjingo's stuff showing up in my games. :D

It's excellent when other peoples stuff comes into your game.

yeah totally, someone commented on my McDeadly creature the other day - it appeared as an epic at the tribal stage I was well pleased :D

am i right in thinking the only way to get more ships is to ally with people? or is there another way i've not yet discovered? re the planets and colonising, i have managed to stabilise it and make a T0 planet into a T1 (i also stuck an atmosphere generator on a T1 planet and made it a T0 :D ) but how do i make it better? with those meteor showers and stuff to heat it and freeze it?

When you put the atmosphere generator on the planet it will briefly change the planet type to T1 for a minute or so. You've then got to use this minute to put vegetation on the planet, and some herbivores I think. This stabilises the atmosphere so the planet remains at T1.
There's a mission that explains it all to you on your homeworld.

I too have been victim to the autosave problem :( Just spent a good 2 hours on the space stage, screen started flickering and spore froze. :(
Oh well. Good job it doesn't take that long to get to space :)

When i first tried it i never got round to putting the veg and animals on the planet and when i tried to do it later all my animals and veg would die:( I've now tried about 10+ atmosphere gens and i can not get the plant to turn to t1. As far as I'm aware i should just place the atmosphere gen that i'm given on the planet and let it do its stuff untill it disapeersand then i should be able to place the animals and plants.

Yes :) As your rank improves you can support new ships and allies may send a ship to join your fleet (automatically I think).

Brief Terraforming Guide

Toggle the minimap to the foodweb view, and you get a circle on the left which has two rings and a central circle. Your goal is to get the little red dot to the central circle (one ring at a time).

If said dot is on the left, near the blue thermometer, you need to move it right by increasing the temperature with a meteor shower. If its at the top, your atmosphere is too dense, and so forth. There are four tools, each one moves the dot a small amount in one direction.

Once you place the tool it will work for a minute or so and then fade. The effect will begin and you can see on the food web view that the red dot will have little white arrows to describe the change - this will take a few moments to fully change, so wait until the arrows fade and the red dot is at its new position.

You may need more than one tool to get the red dot to the next circle.

Mind though, when you make these changes they are temporary, you need to stabilise them by placing animals (2herb, 1carnivore) and plants of all three sizes from another planet. Find and add all varieties to your cargo first, ready to stabilise your new planet. Place the plants first, then the herbivores (gently!), then the carnivore. You should then see one of the six circles on the food web appear to represent that item, once all circles are complete, you should get a message to confirm planet stabilisation.

I think this is right.

Any money making tips for space age? Just sell spice?

I really wish they'd put more into the tribal stage, think I enjoyed that the most so far. 5 villages is too few.

thanks for that, i've not managed to get it right yet (or have enough cash to risk getting it wrong).

it seems a bit silly though that i'm a total warmonger and have had absolutely zero allies thus far, and yet the only way to get rid of the dinosaur dudes that keep attacking me is to get some friends? sucks i say, i want to be a badass mofo that does everything for himself :D

to make cash i've used 2 ways so far, sell spice, kill people who attack my planet (they drop cash and spice and stuff) and doing missions. there are a few places in my game that will buy spice for 15k or so each which is nice. it means i can afford to rebuild my cities every 5 minutes. i have stayed pretty close to my homeworld though and avoided a lot of the transmissions that are coming (i shouldn't have answered the dinosaur guys really!)

Ooerr, dinosaur guys :S Sounds a little scary :p
I have played it evil, no allies, but at the space age I don't know if you get ships in your fleet from your homeworld... forcing you to ally would be a little annoying. Anyone able to confirm this?

After giving it a good going over, I can firmly say that its a great little game to play when I'm bored. However I can't actually say this is going to keep me entertained for long periods of time, purely because most of it is imo repetitive.

The cuteness is there, so I can see this being a big hit with women and kids :p

I just started a new race last night with the intention of spending much more time at the creature stage. Last time I advanced almost immediately and was short on DNA. I think I could have collected more DNA before finalising my little critter.

Nice guide, pretty much what I discovered on my own too.

As for stabilising a new T-Score on a planet, any lifeform from a donor planet will do (as long as the species already doesn't inhabit the planet). A T3 planet just needs the 3-9 different kinds of planet/animal for a stable ecosystem. There is no T-Rating :)

tbh i quite like it. Shame that once you hit tribal you cant control 1 creature like you did in the first 2 stages i really liked running around just exploring

really enjoying it, finally gained the highest rank.

Is it worth going to the middle?

i'm going through my planets upgrading team all to t3, with 3 full citys, taht flying defence thing and bio stabaliser. Hopping to get enough money to buy about 15 planet busters. to kill an ally of in awesome destruction.

How do trade routes work, as I don't seem to make any money from anything, other than selling spices/artefacts.

How do I get the grox mission bacjk and is it worth making my way to the centre of the galaxy?

They allow you to purchase the system after a certain amount of time, as in the civ stage, but Im not sure how much money they draw in whilst in operation.

Ah I see, Mine don't seem to draw any money. Which is annoying. It really needs a way to make money while you do other things. Once you get t3 and 3 cities. You can't keep up and the planet stops producing due to the 30 spice limit.

Pink and blue spice seems to do the best able to sell it for around 30-80k each.

How did you deal with the utter pain of being constantly attacked and not having any time to develop your planets? Really is quite tiresome having to treck back miles just because 1 small pirate ship is taking over a colony :/
