I'm upgrading from an 8800GTX on an IP35 MB using a 600w Enermax PSU.
Could anyone tell me if there are any problems with a 4870 x2 on an IP35?
Also, would I need to upgrade my PSU to an 800W?
As I'm changing from Nvidia to ATI, is there anything I need to know relevant to removing drivers and installing new ones?
Cheers.

You shouldn't have any problems running that card on that mobo and 600W will be fine.
As for drivers, just uninstall them from the control panel as that's all you can do really.

Works very well on my Abit IP35 Pro, P35. The 600w Enermax iirc makes around 35A/420W@12v, which is a little on the light side depending on the rest of the system. Probably fine with a dual core, quad would be pushing it tbh. Remember to use drivercleaner/driversweeper in boot mode to clean out any remaining NV drivers.

Thanks for all the replies guys. It's that damned Stalker game that's prompted me to upgrade. But there's a lot of other goodies coming out over the winter months. Fallout 3, Far cry 2 etc.

Instead of posing questions relating to your gaming rig you should be on the shopfloor working :D Get those PM's done!

I upgraded from a 8800GTX (great card) to a 4870x2 and I ain't lookin back :)

should be ok with 600w, depends how many things are running off it of course. I won't lie, you are at the minimum requirement esp if you have overclocked your system -> this can be handy to see pwr consumption http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp

i doubt your PSU has the 8-pin adapter for the card, but card comes with 2 molex adapters (at least my Sapphire did)

enjoy

You just cannot resist the "Dark Side" :D

Let me know if it improves performance in Stalker Clear Sky.

To be on the safe side, I'm going with an 1100w PSU (Tagan) as well. 600w may be near the knuckle with overclocks and everything. The Tagan 1100w should futureproof my power needs for a while.
