Could you date someone that was not... lets say "bright"

Perhaps they do not understand complex topics, or whatever other thing you can think of that deals with mental capacity.

I work in a supermarket currently (summer job I am a student), and some (not all) of the full timers are so thick it is untrue. The supermarket is near stoke on trent where the average intelligence is much lower than the national average. Of course I am not saying everyone in stoke is thick, but the city deffo has more than its fair share of dopes.

So the answer is no I couldnt:p

I have this at the office, there is a lovely girl who works in reception, and to be frank I'd hit it, she would also hit me, but I've never initiated anything because she isn't what I'd want out of a relationship it's not things like cars or planes and stuff but more like Heat magazine and watching the news, she doesn't take any interest in the world around her other than what celebrity is wearing on Saturdays and I couldn't hold a conversation with a girl like that, and ultimately after you’ve had sex, then what?

There was a temp, who worked at the office for a week who was my age, she read newspapers, watched newsnight and was passionate about world events and was even pretty fit. But. She said she would goto charity shops, cut up poem books, and stick them on her wall and do other weird stuff that other.. .well weirdos do...and it's like. W, t, f. She may have just been lonely and never ‘fit in’, but on the other hand a throughly nice girl and great girlfriend to have, but sometime you just get that feeling about people.

Good god no! the least attractive thing ever said to me was "wow your well smart" (in an mk accent)

Shame that girl would have got it so hard if she had just opened her mouth at the right time....

(sorry thats appalling but it did bother me when i was back in lower 6th)

I'd say shag/date them for a short period of time if they were fairly hot.

Wouldn't want a dumb girlfriend though - a little bit dizzy is acceptable and even, at times, quite attractive so long as the girl is otherwise normally intelligent (I know a girl with a PhD who still has regular 'blonde' moments). I just couldn't stand someone who is dumb 24/7.

My current girlfriend is more intelligent than me when it comes to history, literature, sports and cultures but lost when it comes to science or maths. A great mix I think :)

I did, however date a pretty dumb girl back in college - it was awesome for a while (fantastic body!), but then she got annoying.

my mate married his girlfriend. :p

She never got the chance to really go to uni or do A levels as they were married so young which means he's the bread winner and they will really rely on one ok'ish salary for possibly the rest of their married lives.

She's about to head off to uni now though to do photography.

I like girls that are intelligent. They need to be able to be sharp enough to get my occasional witty remarks and be generally on the ball.

However, I also like it when they have their ditsy moments; you know the ones where you say to yourself "I can't believe you just did that". But they also need to realise that and think "I can't believe I just did that" :D It'll make me feel better when I do stupid things :(

Similar level of intelligence but in a different area! Means she keeps her nose out of my stuff and I dont ask about hers because I dont understand Psychology!

I do like clever girls, however those who are a little dimwitted tend to be a lot more fun to go out with. As long as they can hold a half decent conversation and be funny it really doesn't bother me either way.
