Ever had a really big crush on a lovely lady and it never work out? The obvious answer would be a resounding yes, but most of the time you usually shrug it off and forget about it. However, has there been anyone that you've really regretted not getting with for what ever reason?

I don't know what it is about this one girl, but I occasionally see a status update on Facebook or whatever and get really annoyed with myself for being a bit 'over zealous' when she showed interest and scaring her off. Unfortunately, it's unlikely I'll ever get a second chance, but I can't seem to totally forget about her. It just seems so much of a wasted opportunity, I think we'd have been really good together but alas it's not meant to be. The thing is, she's not even my normal type, but she seems to defy logic and really get under my skin.

Any one else got a similar story?

Happens to us all, as you said, if its meant to be it will be.
 
Yeah a lacie in work, mixed signals so never done anything about it.

Then started seeing the ex pyscho but when we finished sent her an email in work and no reply then realised she had left before I had the chance to say anything. Totally kicked myself about it. But o well **** happens.
 
Yup.

Met a girl many years ago that was great, but I was still hung up on my ex so I never properly made a move. Saw her a couple years later and she was looking better than ever and I was single and not hung up...but she was taken. :(

Always think 'what if' and my mates always tell me that I'm stupid for not making a move...this was when I was 16/17 and I'm not 21 and they STILL say it. :(

I always wonder why the last bloke I was seeing stopped all contact, especially when I see his status updates on facebook.
Im sure its going to bug me for a while to come, I tried to find out what had changed, without success, but im not going to make a tit of myself trying to find out.

Mainly cause I'm a friggid sap! but hey.

I had an opportunity to kiss a girl I liked once, and I didn't...had that moment where you both look at each other, and then nothing happened. Hah! I'm amazing, I really am.

I still like someone as well, I think...I never see her though, cause she lives quite far away...Just always had a soft spot for her...Even though we've only met a few times as well.

Indeed and probably because we have similar personalities. We both want to live life to the max.

Yes, i was taken so nothing ever happened there was always that connection between us. Now i'm not taken but things between us are so nice as friends that it will never be anything more. It'll always be a 'what if'.

It's the way people are and they way they deal with these things. My ex only talks to me if I make a huge amount of effort to talk to her, which I don't really understand as we ended relativly happily and both share lots of friends. I'm not all that fussed though really as I've moved on and have other people and things to occupy my time. :)

I understand, those hard drives are tempestuous mistresses. Lassie is the word you want I think. :p

Regret isn't quite the right word but there are a couple of girls who I wonder if things could have turned out differently with. I'm still friends with both and speak to them regularly but distances in geography and the timing of various events meant it was not to be just then. Who knows what the future will hold though. :)
 
What about the girl you never dared to ask out due to lack of courage, then never saw her again after telling yourself you'd definitely ask her next time.

I don't get that problem often, I'll usually get their name at least. Asking for their number is a different story though :o

The thing is... you could apply that kinda idea to everything, if you had done something, would things be better! For example at work, girls, pals, wee decisions!

But know what you mean... i dragged my feet for a while over someone, wish so much i had done somthing about it, shes awesome :)

On a different note, I have a bit of an issue at the moment with one of my ex's... i cant seem to get over over her. Have had a gf since, and that was good (turned out to be different people, so it ended well and still pals).

BUT my mind keeps wondering onto thoughts of this other girl...! Songs do it, thinkin of flats do it, my car, work, places, out for drinks.... actually just about everything! :| Different kinda story, but a story none the less!

Wonder if shes the one that got away (ended bad, big issues).........

(dunno if its exactly relevent, just a thought lol)

But if I mess those decisions up it wouldn't bother me.

As for your ex, time does heal all wounds sooner or later.

probably regret it for a long time. infact it makes it worse that other people call me stupid for it too
