i was watching the webcast but there seemed to be some problems with the 2nd test?

Direct link to this? I wanna get one :p

Well I for one am glad that all the people who believed the hype about the LHC destroying the world now think they've survived and its all hunky-dory. The fact that they haven't carried out the experiments that they were all fretting about makes me chuckle.

PK!

Doesn't the results of this test have profound, if not terminal, implications for many world religions (particularly thinking of fundamental Christians, creationism etc)?

Are you calling religious people stupid nutters?

I found this rather amusing :D

This confirms the end of the world will be taking place when they actually start colliding things

Are you mad, that confirms everything will be alright.. the Free man wont let anything happen to us.

It would have been an awesome opportunity though for Valve to get marketing their HL games, imagine if episode 3 was coming out soon.. EA and their puny petrol giveaway vs Valves LHC collision!

Thought about asking some therotical physicist who'd gone to harvard, oxford + cambridge when I was there what the chances of a resonance cascade happening were... I didn't tho :p

Ha! You think some scientists with a new toy are going to make all the fundamentalists give up their religion and become atheists?!?! It won't even cause them any reason to consider that they maybe rethink their beliefs.

Hell even if scientists invented a time machine that could take them back to the start of the universe and see it happen, watch mankind evolve on Earth etc they still wouldn't doubt their crazy ways. The whole thing would just be an evil trick by the devil to tempt them from their righteous path.

They'll still say 'A greater being' created whatever happened at the start...regardless...

No one can say 'God' does not exist, because no one can prove he/it/her/flibalop does exist...Or doesn't exist for that matter...
