What things make you Cringe?

One of my mates is like that, never understood why lol :)

Like hornett said I don't like the sound of people picking their nails. However it doesn't make me cringe, it just annoys me.

However I think what georges said really makes me cringe, where somebody breaks a limb and it's bent here it normally isn't. Euuugh

also hate velvet which is what my sofas are made out of so every time i sit on them i have to surround myself with pillows

Forks scraping on plates - sends a huge shiver through me, even just thinking about it. Doesn't happen with knives for some reason.
Also people biting spoons - horrible noise.
 
The thought of having my achillies tendon cut through, arghhh! I hate that bit of Kill Bill, I just can't watch it.
 
polystyrene for me i hate it, and anything going near my eyes or anyones eyes, like when the missus does her make up i just cant watch
 
The audition stage of X Factor or its numerous derivatives - I know contestants go on it willingly, but to me it's the television equivalent of our Victorian/Edwardian ancestors going to the asylum on a Sunday to laugh at the inmates ... that and the fact that I detest Simon Cowell ...

What about someone cracking their neck or is it just fingers/knuckles?

Hard Candy made me cringe, for any men who've watched it you know the scene I mean.

The other thing that makes me cringe is humour along the lines of Ali G/Ricky Gervais/Will Ferrell/Napolean Dynamite etc - I'm aware it is meant to be awkward humour but it just doesn't sppeal to me in the slightest.
 
Brushes, i used to really cringe when brushing my teeth as well and sometimes used ti not clean them because i couldnt stand the noise of brushes. Mostly not a problem now though.
 
similar to polystyrene cringe.

At certain times of the day I cant touch brown cardboard at all....especially if I have just come out the bath with wrinkly fingers.

also the presenters on fifth gear and charlotte church hosting her show.
