Classy cases? Thing of the past?

It looks like shiny plastic rather than aluminum is the only thing I can think of.
I do remember them from yonks ago though and dreamed of owning all those cases one day.
And those custom ones ocuk I think used to do where they would cut holes where you wanted ? were they globalwin ?

Phoar! But what is it doing right down there? It should be sitting in pride of place on the top of a hi fi rack. Got any more pics? The only thing I don't like about it, are the rounded corners.

Anyone want a WiNDy-gasm? See here and here

I agree that they are beautiful, but those pictures make them look unforgivably small. With a few components in they look CRAMPED. I am a water cooler, so I was sort of eyeing up placing a radiator (external ones look ghastly). And now it looks like it's a struggle to get even a pump in. Plus unless they already have excellent cable management (it doesn't look like they do, but I could be wrong), then its a lot fo work to get it looking remotely tidy looking.

I think you've just shattered my dream. If they ever came out over here though, I doubt I could resist... I've looked on eBay and all sorts trying to find one.

The Antec box? What about it? Nothing to add?

Come on, that thing is plainer than the cardboard box is packed into. No style at all. All they've done is add a USB panel. There's simplistic, then there is 'didn't even bother', with 5% 'Boy raacer' too, since it appears to have a spoiler (in both senses of the word).

lol your only saying the boy racer part cos it looks like the top exhaust fan looks like a spoiler. I personally think it's a cracking case with a good price tage aswell. I know a fair amount of people that will agree.

That was my point. I'm not saying it's a terrible case or anything. It's good, its relatively good looking (in it's plain design), but it's not 'classy' really. It is just a box. They clearly spent the RnD money on it's internals and forgot about the outside.

Some may say it's a bit 'utilitarian', but I still love my CM Stacker 810. Huge, flexible, very well ventilated, ATX - BTX option, just brilliant, and very understated. It is damn heavy though!

agreed have a black watercooled version and its gorgous case to work with and build in to

Exactly what i have =D

Although, i've just gutted her, motherboard blew, so i decided to 'upgrade' which basically means, i've sold all the internals, and bought new stuff...

Tripple loop here we come.

Windy PC

Enjoy! ;)

p4adox, why are there no Euro resellers for these beauties? :(

Are these still not available in the UK, i really like the look of these. Last i heard they went bust :(.

are those available in the UK? what price range?

edit: mmm not looking good.

Aye, not available in the UK, as it's actually illegal...

They're illegal in the EU because Soldam won't shell out for CE Mark certification, and all electrical appliances require CE certification. You can't even personally import them legally. Of course some international travellers have brought them back in their hold luggage

Facepalm.

What's remotely tacky about it?!

Just the way it looks, I dont like the look, to ME it looks tacky to me, the color, the black drives in the way, even the little things like the screws you can see and that USB cover just IMO makes it tacky, I've never liked cases like that really.

No i don't as in the process of a 1.2 update and yes it's going to be in pride of place on a hi-fi rack just as soon as its finished.

love the rounded corners just because of the one piece metal.

Most tackiest case ive ever worked in tbh had loads at my old work place with front panels bent and smashed to peices.

lol did you work at some sort of training ground for amateur wrestlers? :p

Antecs in general are built amazingly well - steel for the win! Whereas numerous people say the 1.5mm ally on LianLi's feels cheap and flimsy.
