Who wont be playing Warhead

I still enjoy FPS yet have absolutely no interest in playing Warhead and this is coming from someone whose favourite shooter of all time was Far Cry.

I even like the combat and gameplay of Crysis except for the alien ice levels but I hated the characters and story. Far Cry was so cheesy that it was good and Crysis and Warhead are just so filled with gung ho marine stereotypes. It is difficult to play a game when you dislike the so called good guys so much that you would prefer shooting them than the enemy.

My biggest problem I have with the new games is the level design which graphically looks awesome and makes beautiful screenshots but all the jungle and ice locations just look the same. There is nothing really memorable about them yet I can still remember most of the levels from Far Cry which I last played 4 years ago. They were very varied even though they were all set in a tropical environment - the ruins, rope bridge island, underground, bunker, old ship, well you get my point.

I am curious if there are any other FPS gamers whom are also going give this one a miss?

Probably not - got bored after about 15 mins with Crysis.

If they release a demo, I'll take a look.

I will be playing it for certain. The characters in Crysis are typical hollywood ones which adds to the cinematic feel imo, I did not find them over the top gung-ho marine types though - look at Gears of War, now there are outrageous characters.

I'm not especially looking forward to it, but I expect i'll end up playing it anyway when I get bored a month or so down the line.

i wont at least till it be cheap as ships for 7£ i would but there no point as it is just not playable fps is bad when it comes to action

I really dont care about game stories or characters, I simply enjoy a well made and thought out level designs and nice graphics. All pointers thus far indicate this will be an improvement on the original, so I have pre-ordered.

Back of the box - you saw it here first

Depends, if the stated requirements are a huge lie again then i won't be bothering. This time around i'll actually wait until the game is out and see what people think instead of pre-ordering.

I wont bother, I never really got into Crysis, it looked good but just felt very shallow.

The story was terrible, I didn’t like any of the characters and the combat was very repetitive imo.

I'll play this because its the first crysis game my PC will actually run. I never even bothered trying the crysis demo as I didn't want to play through the full game at 20fps - just extracts the fun out of the game!

I certainly wont be paying for it though :(

So I submitted yesterdays new trailer to reddit, in the comments area I expressed my disappointment with the fact Crytek put MORE aliens into the game even after the community made it perfectly clear we didn’t want more aliens.

I just don’t understand how you can develop a game for a specific group of people and totally ignore what they are saying. It’s the same situation with the upcoming Call of Duty game which is being based on WWII even after everyone and their mother wanted another Modern Warfare game. Then to top it off, when Crysis sales are “disappointing”, they blame it on piracy. Piracy IS NOT the problem, the problem was bad game play, period. Amazing graphics only get you so far.

You wanna know what would be an amazing success? A game like BF2 or COD4 running on the cry engine.

But seriously guys, come on with this crap already. We don’t want to fight aliens, what’s so damn hard to understand? I’d rather fight giant lizards and spiders than aliens. If you’re going to try and force your users to fight aliens, why not ATLEAST try and make them organic looking? I mean, the aliens you put in don’t even look alive, they look like ****ing robots.

Whatever, don’t go crying about piracy if Warhead doesn’t meet your sales expectations.

I'm still undecided, I'll probably buy Warhead 2nd-hand like I did with the original, which probably makes me look like a pirate in Crytek's book.
