Thing is a lot of people around the world visit the BBC news website, and probably a lot of people who are not british or french don't know that the Eurotunnel is the tunnel that links england with France

Look at it another way given that its an international website, if they said that some random tunnel in japan or india or wherever has caught fire, we wouldn't have a clue.
