Do you carry your license?

No i dont, because if i loose it, i've gotta pay for a new one. I know someones going to say "well dont loose it then" Thats like saying "well don't accidently fall over today then"

I'd be far more worried about losing the rest of the contents of my wallet along with the wallet itself rather than a ~£20 non essential card :p

Why the counterpart as well?

I carry the photocard in my wallet

No reason per se - I think it's just a habit or something my driving instructor did.

Can't imagine anyone'll be asking me about my endorsements (not that I have any) by the side of the road though, which is about all it'd be useful for (I think?) :D

But it's only £19 and no paper work. Just a 3min phone call and it'll be with you in a few days.
Still a massive pain in the arse.
I've lost mine 2/3 times, it's annoying losing it because the Doovla are USELESS and it takes ages to come through the post.
Not to mention 20 quid is 20 quid.

I do carry mine on me though, now, a little while back my mate decided to take the mick out of me in sir daniels arms, the bouncer booted me out because I didn't have my ID.
So now I carry it on me to save hassle should the situation arrise I need to proove my age (rare these days i'm sad to say)

You don't need to present it to a police officer, sometimes they might want you to bring it into the station maybe if you don't have it.
If I leave the house I take my wallet with my driving licence, I haven't lost my wallet in years now.

It's ideal ID. As Jez says, there is always someone on a checkout who will ID you for something so it's easier if I have it with me.

i leave mine at home all the time unless i know i will need it, i hardly ever carry ID around with me otherwise, lol, i normally talk my way into things which may require ID, hehe :P

Jez it is useful for driving purposes, only BMW have ever requested to see my paper counterpart for test drives where as everyone else has been fine with my card!

Never used to as I never a needed it and I didn't want to risk losing it. Been carrying it this year though as I need to show it regularly at trackdays and sprints so it's easier to carry it all the time than risk forgetting it.

I used to carry mine when I looked 18ish for ID purposes but not any more. Come to think of it I rarely carry my wallet anymore, one card and a few notes go in the pocket just fine.

Photocard is a very useful form of ID; I've even taken internal flights with just that. Cheaper to replace and smaller than a passport too for nights out.

AFAIK if you get stopped, you can opt to present your documents at a local police station within 7 days, so as long as you posses a license somewhere it's not a worry.
As for the tractor thing- even a provisional license entitles you to drive one. There is no Tractor practical :p
