*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

I have to add I think WAR graphics look fine whats the point of having amazing graphics look at AOC, the GFX were so good that in PVP you were lucky to get 10 fps on some of the best PC's, and the game is rubbish after a certain point.

War is about RVR and it is looking good, but you cannot make 11m people move away from a game, what sort of subs did other mmos have before WOW, on the chart webpage I can say I have seen any game as high up the chart as WOW.

So good? I thought they were very average even with everything turned up high. The lack of DX10 was very frustrating as well considering as on the box it said it featured it. Lord of the Rings Online (IMO) is much better looking than anything currently out there. It's not a bad game either however I'm veering off topic.

I used to play Asherons Call and at its peak it had around 1M subscribers. You have to remember that WoW made it very easy and accessible for people to play. I, personally, like to do a bit more than click on the same few buttons every few seconds but thats the way the market has gone. I believe WoW has around 10M subscribers which is a lot however if theres no good games out there for it compete with then this is never going to change. In WAR I believe it will take some of those people away from WoW.

Basically the graphics will hopefully get better in time for this game.

Favourite classes so far are Black Orc and Witch Hunter. The Chaos/Empire opening scenario is nice too.

Still got to try some stunty classes, only ones i've not tried yet.

something I wrote elsewhere about zealot too:

I started a zealot lastnight and as a healer in a group it is much easier to heal in PvE or RvR. Being a group healer as a DoK is a very tough job.

The thing is I still find myself thinking that the DoK could well be my final choice for gameplay.

Problem is How will Melee healers last in large scale RvR? I've been smashed intot he ground by everyone in sight before now casue you are very obviously a healer but also very obviously in range of all those casters on the front line.

That said if they dont you can last a very long time self healing.

Need to test the shami out tonight or saturday to confirm my final choice btu so far DoK is looking likely.

That's been a concern of mine. Zealot/Shaman/ArchMage/Runepriest are more the archetypal healers who will be primary in groups. WarriorPriest an DoK, due to their need to melee, will always be secondary. I guess they will focus on themselves and a support heal other tanks on the front line.
When I played my zealot in higher level RvR, I found a well played DoK required little-to-no healing from me - just the occasional HoT.

Enjoying the Magus at the moment, the disc makes it extra cool :). Been liking the black orc as well, but its a shame that they can't dual wield. Think the magus will be my main class of choice when the game goes live.

Yeh I came top with my chosen on a nordenwatch scenario I did, but haven't bothered with it since as rvr zones are much better.

Played Bright Wizard myself most of the time. They are very good casters, althought he Explosion mechanic can get a bit annoying at times however I do like it - kinda like a love/hate situation :) Got one to Level 20 in Open Beta before I stopped leveling. If they are played right, they are teetering on overpowered which is why I have my concerns with starting as one as I really dont' want to end up playing one to find out that in 3 months we're nerfed to oblivion. I can live with them getting nerfed as I think they should, it's just how they nerf the class that I'm concerned about - such as removing abilities from trees or changing some core abilities.

Iv been playing a bright wizard in beta and i have to say he is a fun class to play, the combustion mechanic is like you said a love/hate thing. Sometimes its sick having 100 combustion and other times it not! I feel that altho he might receive some minor changes i dont think he will receive any major nerfs for IMO 2 reasons. #1 he is the weakest class in the game #2 He can hurt himself (which with 100 combustion happens a lot) My brother said yesterday after rvring for 2-3 hours that i prolly hurt myself more than the enemy do! Altho i try my best not to let anyone get near me the whole night, But trust me when people do i get totally dropped, Which is ok because i can do some nice dmg. My guild was talking about in mass pvp the bright wizards should have there own dedicated healer so they can keep there combustion high, Sounds like a good idea to me! :D

oh and i cba to quote the other guy who said he likes the way aoc did the range thing, Well im pretty sure they changed it to check for range/los at the end of the cast aswell btw.

Well im glad the wow v war comparision went over to the new thread i made.
Anyways back to WAR, are the servers going to be down all evening ?

I am definitely getting this game. I am more used to playing tank classes or classes that dishes out more dps and acts as an off tank if necessary.

So I am actually pondering between IronBreaker and Chosen.

Any ideas guys?

To be honest I find Swordmasters and Black Orc's to be the more "dps" tanks, whilst Ironbreaker and Chosen are a lot more defensive.

aye the chosen is deffo a lot more defensive, i cant say much for the ironbreaker or black orc but from what ive seen the black orcs are deffo more dps than defensive.
Chosen tend (or ive found) to be the damage takers trying to block people from getting to the "squishys"
