*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

Assassins of Fate have got vent setup, so we've been using that a tad. Although me not so much as I'm only level 7 atm, don't want to RVR until I've got more abilities!

Nice one, will join you tonight :)

The servers didn't go down as planned though? Really hoping that means i have 4 hours of gaming now.

I can survive playing a Chosen but when there's a lot of ranged I have no hope in that case I retreat and then lead them to the rest of the guys. Anyone know the command to chat there - other than /say I can't seem to get anything else to work (tried /p).

In the scenario? You're in a warband so its...god, I cant remember, /w or /wb or something. We tend to use voice coms so I dont often type it, but I think its one of those two if I recall correctly

To be honest im glad it isnt anything like WoW, as long as their is end game content ready at 40 or soon near enough then hopefully i will be staying :D

Do the RvR scenarios a couple of times anyway. Even if you fail miserably, it will still give you access to the Renown vendors, who's weapons and armour are better than anything else you will find at early levels.

Besides, that first Elf scenario with the nukes is just hilarious :D

theres a weird icon-y shape at the bottom of the chat pane , clicking on that lets you set the ouput i.e party, warband, scenario party etc.

its below the bottom scroll bar iirc.

Anyone else a little concerned for MDPS in RvR? I mean Wizards and Sorcerers just seem far better suited to the larger battles than something like a Witch Elf.

Yeah I have similar concerns. I really enjoyed playing a witch elf in the open beta but in scenarios I could really struggle, if there were lots of ranged it was hard to get involved. However as Sleepery says, hopefully it will be better with some communication.

Order has been posted :D

Haven't got the internet so I've not been able to enjoy it these last few days :o

Hopefully that's all sorted today as BT man arrived and was talking to the missus as I was leaving for work.

The massive bias toward Destruction does worry me in a game so focussed on RvR - and it makes me wonder if it'll be something of a self-perpetuating problem....

I mean, everyone wants to be on the winning side, right? Why join Order, and constantly be losing, when its easier just to join Desto and be on the "winning" side? I can see people switching to Destro because of this...

Queues should solve the problem, but we'll see when it all is released and in the next couple of weeks, i'm sure they have thought of it.

In the days of Daoc, Mythic had a system where the lower populated realm got ingame bonuses to balance it out. Like extra RP in RvR etc, I'm sure they'll do something similar here.

gah gotta go work in london for 2 days on a course...thats gonna suck, by the time im back ill be in the retail queues :(

Hopefully they'll open more servers before then so that the retailers can all jump on as I think it's going to be mad.

Thanks for the chat info. I remember now!

M.

Well I think with the headstart you had a lot more guilds and alliances all piling onto specific servers. Hopefully with retail people will just accept whatever server choice the game offers them.

Never had to queue for more than a few minutes last night, and thankfully didn't crash to desktop once. Going to be spending a long time trying to decide on a class though, every one I've tried so far has been interesting in its own way.

We had a problem jumping onto one of the servers last night - queues were into originally 2 hours then just got worse and worse (4 hour wait at one stage).

Hopefully they'll settle down soon.

I've played a WH at T4 and the only time there were any issues was during a zerg stand off (like on the steps to order WC in praag etc), also initial stages of defending t3-t4 keeps can leave MDPS looking for something to do.
But if you're in a good group even in zergs you find a lot to do. As we approached any group i'd stealth, flank and then unload on the healers and squishies at the back. I could usually get away too if I utilised all my skills (COF damage debuff if tanks start hitting me, break root etc).
If you run with the zerg all the time, I think you will find lots of situations where you can't do anything - you have to make your own opportunities with these classes.

When you're in a scenario, you chat by using /sp :)

My guild and I have left KArak Azgal due to the insane queues. Karak Izor is much quieter queue-wise and we are hoping the RvR will pick up a bit soon.

Yeah I've been in a few scenarios, I'm RR4 I think. Looked at some of the gear and it's abit pants atm, but I'm guessing that's still due to me being lowish RR level. Is the Elf one different to the Chaos ones? I'm guessing so, I haven't experienced any of the nukes?!

I'm actually really enjoying the Zealot, coming from a tanking/dps role in other games makes this a fresh experience. I totally love the range on the healing too, I can hide back out of view, behind rocks and have the tank selected to see it's health - pop back out do a shield, a few flash heals depending on how low his health is and then a HoT. By then he's back up to full health! I'm struggling in a 1v1 type situation though, but I'm sure this'll change with experience.

Loving the class, loving the PvP... Just loving this game!

The weapons I was getting from the renown vendor were generally about 3dps higher than anything else I'd gotten from a quest reward at early levels. The elf RvR scenario is vs dark elves I think. You have to control two flag points, but whenever you've got both locked, they let off this massive expanding globe of fire that wipes out anything it touches.

Hard to tell what classes will be like at early levels, every level I get at this stage as a shadow warrior seems to give me another useful skill. I imagine if you pick and choose carefully among the mastery paths you could make yourself quite capable in close combat without totally crippling your ranged damage.
