Jack White and Alicia Keys' theme for the new James Bond movie has had its first airplay.

Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley debuted Another Way To Die on her morning show. The track will feature in Quantum of Solace which is out on 31 October.
Anybody know what time they played it?

I've listened to the short clip in the article which sounds quite weak, but I'd rather hear the full version before making any lasting judgement.

Opinions?

Holy **** what were they thinking.....

I thought Chris Cornell did a great job with the last one, really felt like a Bond tune but this is just horrid.

She is a waste of time and a bullet would be better for her.

If any of us behaved like that at work or outside we would be fired and jailed.

Yeah but she can sing.. and its a bond song.. songs are sung by people who sing. Not by people who work in a paper shop or something :P

Heard this morning at about 10.50-10.55.
Cheers Cob.

Just gave it a listen on iplayer. It's only just occurred to me how much I don't fancy Alicia Key's vocals, especially when they're both singing at the same time. It sounds like a dying cat.

The tune itself is lacking a certain oomph that Chris Cornell's offering had. On the other hand, it's refreshing to see them try something slightly different perhaps. I don't think they've got it quite right though.

I dunno, perhaps it deserves a few more chances...

Okay, it's grown on me, it's not too bad now. Sounds a bit too sisscor sisters in places though,...also the best bit is a rip off of Radiohead's 'Climbing up the walls', and has stupid orchestra hits and 'spooky piano' to give it that Bond sound.

Nowhere near the genius of Chris Cornell though. That song's lyrics and his voice were awesome, a lot of thought had gone into it, it had depth, a bit restrained giving it a quality that it was a proper song in it's own right. I can't see that in this song, just sounds like it's strung together from random jams and just has sounds and lyrics that are there to sound 'cool', and that's about it.

It sounds like trailer for a Teen Karaoke DJ software for Nintendo Wii. Random stuff thrown all over the place, bizarre mix, three tone melodic content that would make Twinkle Little Star blush and the two voices that completely don't fit together.

To paraphrase certain muppets - "Listening to the two of you singing is like ordering a ferocious guard dog for your home and getting delivered a poodle in a leather jacket instead. It will never happen, Jack and Alicia. I'm going to say "no". Luis? "No". Cheryl? "Sorry loov, boot no"
