I agree with your comments about Crysis Warhead, great game. I just finished t and it's pretty much non-stop action. There is not much time to take in the beauty before all the combat starts which moves the game along nicely.

Nice to see that a new poster figured that Warhead was worthy of his first thread/posts!

I won't get my copy till Monday but am looking forward to it - if only for the improved multiplayer aspects

They did serious optimizations to the engine... I completed the original Crysis at last, and just started playing Warhead. I get literally 60fps on all Gamer settings on Warhead, all the way through the first level while I would never get higher than 35 at most on the original on High settings. Warhead even looks better (the lighting is more natural). I really hope they patch the first game with the optimizations, they are really out of this world! Top class work by Crytek Budapest. I haven't even got started on the gameplay yet, which is just as good as the original. Warhead is definitely my pick for GOTY so far, even past games like Metal Gear Solid 4.

More people need to play Warhead, especially those disenchanted with the original's relatively high hardware requirements. Warhead takes it down a step or two in terms of hardware requirements.

Proof. Nuff said. It literally runs twice as fast as the original.

I actually bumped it up to Enthusiast, it still runs smooth 35-45 fps. It's smoother than the original Crysis at medium!

MGS4 was quite boring, I loved the first 3 but I didn't like 4 one bit, got to Act 3 and got rid of it before completing, read the story on Wikipedia.

Although the western tweaks to MGS4 were supposed to improve it, I didn't click with it one bit.

I hate to say it but from those screenshots, it looks half as good. Maybe that's why it runs twice as fast?

Yeah, warhead is definitly more fun than crysis. It's non stop action. You gotta play it on delta to appreciate the level of AI though. I don't think it looks as good as crysis with the CCC mod, but the lighting looks better in warhead.
