Labour - For goodness sake, now free childcare...

I think the basic idea is good , I know someone who wants to work but is struggling because they cannot afford childcare

Sweet, let's pay for free childcare for irrisponsible chavs!!

Like they don't get enough from the govt to spend on booze n drugs...

I can't stand this country.

So yet more faff and taxes to pay for this... More money wasted and dripping away through bureaucracy and confusion...

Labour are in serious trouble and they need a bribe for the working class to keep them from going to Cameron.

I'd say they're still doomed at the next election though.

I don't think this is a bad idea. I am generally against benefits but education is one I am all for. You can't blame someone for turning to crime if they have no education, how are they going to compete, they are just going to become disillusioned.

It seems to be enabling parents to leave there kids at Nursery once they are 2 so they can go to work rather than waiting until they are 5 and start school.

While it could also help scroungers I think this will also help a lot of parents that want to work.

This is a good benefit as it is available to everyone who has kids that wants to work, not just people that claim they are unable to work but in reality just don't want to.

EDIT: Just read low income families only. well I guess it is another kick in the teeth for the hard working then...

I don't think sending a 2 year old child to a government institution for state conditioning is a good thing.

It seems to be an open commission that after 10 years of labour government no family has any chance of keeping it's head above water unless both parents work full time.

this is a great idea

but you could only be eligible if you work
my wife has had to drop a couple of shifts a week since we had our son
just because we cant afford full time childcare
and we are suffering for it

If it helps people to get back to work and means that kids, that would otherwise be ignored by high chavs playing playstation, actually get some sort of daily interest taken in them then it's a good thing.

Sounds like he's decided to start moving Labour back over to the left - which is ultimately good for politics so we can have a real choice.
